Actually makes me think a stratagem meant specifically for blowing trenches would be pretty cool for the bot front. no real damage unless its like directly on enemies, but makes like 30 feet long, 2 or 3 foot deep trench

@@clusterflood another reason for the devs to give us a trench shovel. Unironically I'd take one as part of a "fortifications" warbond update (includes Eagle razor wire drop, AT turret drop, and trench shovel support weapon), that would be dope to have to give us some cover when we're in an open landscape, have time to kill, and know rocket devs are on their way
Oh hell yeah. But i would prefer a bunker buster stratagem that could also be used to blow a big hole in the ground suitable for trenches.

If you do an emote while falling, (IE: Hug, Salute, etc) you will take significantly reduced fall damage.
Grenade launcher is underrated on the bot front because its the only tool that you can use to dig a hole to hide from the bots in. On Super Earth they are called fox holes, on Wezen they were called Hell Holes

You could increase the uptime of the 500kg slightly by bringing another eagle and having the final eagle upgrade, which decreases downtime by 10% when remaining eagle uses are available when rearming.
Legends say that if you dig deep enough, you might startle a whole Glyphid nest.
...Do this on a defense mission...

I first tried this with the infinite grenade glitch a while back! Though we did make big holes, we used the holes to make a moat with little water puddles, since expanding holes with water expanded the water. We did so with moderate success.
We are making the mother of all holes here, Jack! Can't fret over every 'nade.

What I love is that I know while you guys were laying down on the grenades, your characters would occasionally shout, "FOR SUPER EARTH!!!!!!" Meanwhile your democracy officer on your Super Destroyer be like, "....."

I still feel like more can be done. The Eruptor is known for its ability to cut into terrain as well. Does the orbital precision strike not have good digging power?
I ran the eruptor during the session, but between supply backpacks, resupplies, and 500KGs, there wasnt much time to use it over the grenade launcher, which was more efficient.
Honestly we just need more time. Praying for an update which has some sort of endless mission.
Cheat engine can give you unlimited time, and instant recharge on strategyns :)

@@defendthehouse Cheat engine table is over on nexus mods, run it before opening cutscene is finished, click what cheats you want to apply and bam can play for 8 hours in 1 match.

The fact that terrain can change that much to show where a battle might've took place is awesome
The bug-hive bomb mission, stretches the terrain down and placed a modelled "crater" to give the effect the explosion exploded the underground colony. This explains why there is a very detailed deep-rocky crater, and the stretched terrain around it when he was down there. Devs scripted the hole to be that deep and use the explosion to quickly place the modelled crater in. But we can see the possibility of the hole being deeper than the modelled crater given when he was reinforced into the hole.
I would honestly love this kind of mission. There is a wealth of material in the ground and you have to locate and manually dig for it.

Thanks for making this content, it is nice to see and enjoy the classic silly Helldivers and not the negative lash back of Escalation of Freedom.
If you dig deep enough, eventually you'll get as deep as the grave that the developers are digging for themselves.
Since your last video, against bots I've been running supply backpack, grenade launcher, emp mortor(or normal mortor), and the placeable shield generator. Makes for true trench warfare.

The biggest hole in Helldivers is the place in my soul where the Flamethrower was as recently as yesterday.
Helldivers will look at a hole like this and say "Hell yeah."
I found it so funny that as Helldivers, they were recruited, trained, frozen in a pod then unfrozen, unleashed onto the planet to complete the mission...and they immediately start digging a giant fucking hole together that takes up all of the time allowed for the mission.
Then the ships get tired of their tomfoolery and fly away.

me and my friends got a mission that had 500kgs as a mission strategem, so we brought 500kg 380 barage, and everything else we could, and made an entire mountain down to the lowest area possible

i never realized just how good the Ground Deformation system was in this game......
another thing that would help is when calling down resupplies, it doesn't go on cooldown until thrown. If all 4 players have the strat inputed then they get thrown it can usmmon 4 supply pods
Me and my mates would get every bombardment strategem and hide on some ledge to complete hold-out missions, always left us with a complete wasteland to the point where it was a challenge getting to the extraction -- did wonder exactly how far it could be taken

There’s a saying that if it blows holes in things it’ll double as an entrenching tool, maybe it’ll be useful to quickly make foxholes against the automatons with all their projectile weaponry

Also you can safely jump down deep holes and keep drilling using the jet pak. Hit the jets half way down. works well. Great way to lure charger hoards to their demise.

Just picked up this game a week ago and everything about it is just fun. I was waiting for a sale but my advice if you are thinking about it is just get the game, you won't regret it
i remember years ago watching people do this exact same thing on battlefield 1 with similar results
