THIS TOTALLY BROKE ME. Oh my god so many feelings everywhere. I will never get over his death, I miss him so much and this is such a fantastic tribute to an incredible character wow! I LOVE THIS!!

I just saw 4x01. Damn I miss Joel. (And Sydney. But that is neither here nor there.) This vid is so freaking perfect. I love rewatching it. I think one of my favorite parts of it has got to be him yelling back to Alex, "no we don't crash!" -- You included it at just the right moment in the song and it's just one of those moments that really shows off how skilled of a vidder you are.

Just rewatched this today because someone was joking about the singer of this song and i was reminded of how much i fell in love with this song and got so emotional when I first saw this vid of yours and was introduced to him as a musical artist. Such a great vid. This is making me want to rewatch the best seasons of this show and/or actually finish the final season that i never finished

Oh my god, Suvi! You're making me tear up with this WONDERFUL, HAPPY tribute to Joel and all that made him so likable and great. I was so upset that they killed him off, did not see it coming at all, and it didn't work at all for the story they were building. But mainly I'm just going to miss him being a part of this amazing show. And you captured exactly why. You used all the right moments and such a prefect song! Lol I love the irony of the Uncle Sam lyrics for a Canadian show and a character from New Zealand but it worked with the clips you chose. Every moment did. This whole vid was perfection and so enjoyable. Thank you for making this and ah I hope I vid him sometime. And ah thanks for introducing me to such a lovely song about a soldier dying too. It's oddly uplifting and I love it. And again, it was a perfect choice.

It was one of those songs that was so not literally right but parts of it just hit me so hard that I was like, to hell with it, and did it:D It is oddly uplifting, kinda left me feeling good about the whole thing. I'm glad I was spoiled of the death cos I didn't really need to see him blown into pieces without warning lol...It was all too sudden and one could argue death is sometimes sudden but NOT ON THIS SHOW. On this show the deaths take forever. So it felt out of place but I don't know the reasons behind this, haven't read up on it. I'm glad you saw the love in this and hope you'll vid this show too:D And I'd love to see a video from you to this song too, it feels so right for your style. It's blocked in Germany and on mobiles though, the story of our life:D
+luvtheheaven5 Yeah it did look like they just went with what they'd planned for the season and then just added the death at the end. And then we didn't get to experience any of it with the characters. It's one of those things I really just wanted to forget at the time but now I'm not as upset anymore. But I haven't accepted it either lol.
I read Amanda's description that you linked. Sound lovely! I saw so many angry reactions after the episode and I think that tends to say so much about how the death was executed. When it's done right, people are sad but they don't rage. Like I got the impression that people were pretty traumatized by Allison's death on Teen Wolf but the reactions weren't angry like they were with these shows.

On Teen Wolf, Allison's death made sense in a way, she was a human on a supernatural show, it was in the middle of an intense war thing and she died fighting for her friends' lives... and she kind of got a goodbye with her dad earlier in the ep, like a sweet "I love you" kind of foreshadowing thing... plus any of us who paid attention to spoilers all knew a main character would be dying this season, we just didn't know which one. It was still shocking and could've been more sad than it was, like my dad said he thought my Allison/Scott fanvideo was sadder than the actual episode. Lol. I think it needed better music, flashbacks, a funeral, things we didn't get and should've gotten. More of a goodbye to Allison. But at least her death made sense for her overall character. I guess.
My dad was weeks behind me on Chasing Life lol so I avoided telling him about my video or spoilers and when he saw the Chasing Life episode finally, he texted me to say "WTF Leo's dead?" which I think was all of our reactions to the last 30 seconds of the episode where he just... died in his sleep.
It was so... out of place. It was like "no, for a satisfying story deaths can't be this sudden and random. Unless a show is all about that kind of realism. But most TV shows aren't. An episode should build to it. Come on." I think Saving Hope did a better job in the episode itself building to it than Chasing Life did. But Saving Hope failed on a larger scale of the season as a whole and building to it.
For Allison, they did it in the second-to-last ep of the season to give the other characters (and therefore the viewers) a chance to react and be upset about it for one ep before the long hiatus... and one thing I do like about Chasing Life is that they did it mid-season to give us all a chance to grieve with the characters for multiple episodes right away. That works pretty well, I think. :P

Yeah that's nice when they give actual time to grieve and don't just skip over it. It always makes me feel like they didn't really have a story to be told when they skip over tragic events once they've got the shock factor out of it...:D

I literally have not POV on this show other than him dying in a season finale mutlifandom amongst other things like that ... but it seems like a decent show. That dude worked had for a few years apparently ... going between Canada and the US to film two shows at once. I don't watch the vampire one either, but damnnnn he worked hard for his $$. Great job. I throughly enjoyed this!
