Great video. I've ridden and done video on the trail several times but I've never been farther than Hermann. I like your commentary too. I should do that on my videos but the minute the camera is on me I can't think of a thing to say. :) Anyway - very cool and I liked seeing the east end and the places you stayed.
Thanks for watching. Putting the camera on myself isn't my favorite either, but for some reason I find that easier than asking others to be on camera, so I just suck it up and get it done. Sometimes it needs a few takes, but I spend some of my free time on the ride thinking about what is the story that I want to tell in this video, and that usually helps.
It's great! No complaints to speak of. It's a comfortable ride and it holds a good amount of gear. If I had to complain about something I find the hand grips to be comfortable, but they do make my hands go numb after days of riding. Sometimes the numbness lasts for weeks after the ride. My buddy who has the same bike has the same problem. And the twist shift can be difficult to turn when your hands are sweaty. But other than those two minor things, it's great!
@@dherholz This is the main reason I always wear gloves. I like having the same grip on the bike weather it's cool, hot-n-sweaty, or in rain. You might try some really nice gel padded gloves to help with the numbness. A bike fit might help that too. Not necessarily a pro fit but someone who knows. Maybe something like a different stem that would move the bars towards or away from you a 10mm or so. I don't pretend to know what the problem is. I just know I've been fitted and it helps with comfort as well as proper position to maximize your ability.
@@dherholz all good, thanks, yours and others videos have taken most of the guess work out of the planning with the exception of the RIT from the Stadium down
Looks like more fun than a Marky Mark concert at Six Flags!
We were in your old stomping grounds in Marthasville. We had frog legs at the Twin Gables Inn for dinner that first night. Tastes like chicken!
I really enjoyed watching that part! The Gables have been there for decades!
Wipe that smile off your face! :) Thanks for sharing such a great ride!
Thanks for sharing. What a great video 👍
Glad you enjoyed it

"Wicked Awesome".. Nice video.. Katy Trail is on my to do Soon list.. Pedal On !!🚴😃
You definitely should, it's a great easy trail to just ride and clear your mind.
Love the video I have not done the Katy Trail in a few years looking forward to doing it again I have the same plaid jersey!!! Thanks for the video
Cool. I got the jersey on a second-hand rack at my bike shop. Did you just buy it retail? It does kind of crack me up how "formal" it looks.
@@dherholz I’ve had it for a couple years. Got it from EBay. I’m sure it’s secondhand .
Thank you for taking us along. How do you like your Priority 600X? Ride On!

Great video, look forward to doing this later this summer. I wish you guys would've worn helmets. Nothing happens until it happens.
How did the 600x work for you?
Great! Really solid bike. I've done 3 Katy rides and a bike packing trip. No problems at all.
@@dherholz very versatile looking forward to the KT in September on my 600x.
Awesome! Just let me know if you have any questions I can help with. Hope it's a great trip!
