Totally agree. Pad keeper looks stock like it belongs there. Padkeeper Sticker is easily removed to make it look completely stock. I left the sticker on mine for now.
Mine wasn't actually falling apart or brittle. For this reason I just sprayed a rather large amount of 'trim adhesive' deep into the gap(s), from one side to the other. I then provided even 'up pressure' using a blanket wedged in above the engine and left it overnight. That was 15 years ago, and it's still fine and looks OEM.
Well, I did the exact opposite and removed the whole sound pad(that’s the very first thing i did), then removed the rear shelf in the car too for the full effect, when the car hits 4.5k rpm I smile like an idiot.
I thought about doing that but since I occasionally give rides to my kids in the back seats I read the back seats will get pretty hot without the engine pad but not sure how true that is or not? Also did you have to lower the engine or remove much from the top of the engine to get the pad out and scrape all the glue?
@@RockstarBruski interesting and valid point. Mine is never hot though. However your senses get seriously assaulted when on the pedal and confess I do really love it 😁. I rarely have people in the back even though I kept the rear seats. But if the kids are in the back then it’s a makes total sense to keep noise down re pad etc etc else they’d be really mad at you.
Agreed! Also the 95 only has one o2 sensor compared to 3 o2 sensors on later years. However here in the Portland Oregon area you still have to pass emissions every two years unless the car is 1974 or older. However I registered my 993 as a classic car since it's 25 years old so then you don't have to pass emissions, you only have a rear license plate and no front plate and your registration is one time fee only for as long as you own your car. There are some restrictions to how you use the car, etc but I drive mine to car events and generally routine maintenance driving to keep it well oiled and running smoothly.
My soundpad was still ok, but the Padkeeper makes it all look so much better.

Great tip! :)

95 is the best 993, you don't have to deal with the damn emissions.

@@RockstarBruski - I'm right in the middle of an engine out: clutch/spark plugs/wires, etc in my 97 993 and it looks like there are four 02 sensors
@@beardedgarage interesting thanks for the info!
First.
Congrats! :)
