I set up emails for my smaller customers as part of our web design services so this will very useful for those that need talking through it. To be able to just jump on their phone remotely and do it for them is great.
it seems like everything is using udp for remote screensharing but once you enable the remote control only touch gestures are udp and video is tcp, does apple updated the tcp-udp ports used in their devices' support page?
I don’t think they will let you control using keyboard since apple care about privacy and safety and i also guess u wont be able to copy an paste stuff too
This is nice. But i wish YT channels shout out to Apple to implement better Pro features on iPad, especially improving Stage manager or bringing Mac level usability to the M series of iPads. Apple sadly doesn't listen to consumers like me (common people), so I believe its the responsibility of people like you to make sure that Apple gets the message. Sorry to be critical, but as long as you guys are soft and praise Apple for whatever they deliver, this is gonna suck. The M4 on iPad is the biggest joke of 2024. It's like having a Nuclear Reactor (M4) that can output 20W of charging (iPad OS). I have the M1 iPad Pro and after using Galaxy Tab S9+ briefly, I am totally moved by the flawless multitasking abilities of Galaxy Tab. Even if I want to upgrade to M4 (which I definitely wouldn't), I need to buy a new Apple Pencil and magic keyboard, that's entering MacBook Pro territory. There are other channels with less than 10k subscribers that really shout out on Apple for better features, but sadly none of the big guys care.
This feature is GREAT with macOS beta!!. Keyboards and trackpad moves flawlessly over mirrored iPhone. Wish I could get the iPad Pro to work on macOS like this. iPad has been a power house outside of Mac and I would love to have access to my iPad Pro like iPhone will now have. GREAT NEW FEATURE!! Didn’t know I needed it until I now have it!
Use Universal Control, the ipad screen is not mirrored on mac book screen but you can control the ipad with mouse and keyboard/trackpad from mac book and it has drag&drop support. And it doesn't show ipad notifications on mac os.
Same hopefully next year we get the Mac's iPhone mirroring on iPad & it gets expanded to include iPad mirroring. I'd really like MacOS mirrored to iPad like sidecar mirroring main display, but the ability to initiate it from the iPad.
Do you know if in ipadOS 18 you can swtch off the Hover function for the Apple Pencil Pro for each application indivdually? I had to turn it off completely because the majority of apps aren’t ready for it yet. For example in Screens, with which I can take over the screen of my old 27” IMac, the screen moves automatically to the left and right when (the screen is zoomed in and ) I move the Pencil Pro over the screen. This is immensely annoying because I just can’t click any button, because just before clicking the screen is moving away. In some drawing apps the hover function is equally annoying and like I said I had to turn it off completely. Anyone else have the same experience?
Will MacOS Sequoia be able to remote control an iPad, the way the iPad controlled an iPhone in this video? (Essentially looking for screen sharing between an iPad and a MacBook Pro, the same way or similar to how it works on MacOS)
