  • Highly Requested Recipe - How to cook Goan Jeerem Meerem | Jeerem Meerem Goan Fish Curry
    ► Jeerem Meerem means (cumin and peppercorns), Jeerem Meerem Goan Fish Curry is simple yet very delicious, seasoned fish is cooked in curry made with pounded spices and other ingredients, this curry can be made thicker by adding less water as per your preference

    1 cup = 250 ml; Tbsp. = Tablespoon = 15 ml; tsp. = teaspoon = 5 ml; g = grams
    Ingredients:
    400g Fish (seasoned with salt & washed)
    1 cup Onion
    ½ cup Tomato
    ½ tsp. Sugar
    6 Cloves
    8 Garlic Cloves
    ¼" Ginger
    Tamarind
    10 Black Peppercorns
    ½ tsp. Cumin Seeds
    1 Tbsp. Vinegar
    1 large Green Chilli
    Coriander Leaves
    2" Cinnamon Stick
    ¼ tsp. Turmeric Powder
    4 Tbsp. Cooking Oil
    Salt to Taste
    Serves: 4

    Oh heavens I can almost taste it..I need to cook this at the weekend however no blooming Kingfish so I'll have to sub..It's been ages since I've had it so I'll possibly go Sea Bass or Tuna or if I'm being a bit of a penny pincher Pollock..This is so yummy Fatima I'm always smiling when you're on the Tube :-)

    Hi Fatima ur jirem mirem has turned out very good but only one thing u forgot to do is for jirem mirem u have to fry d fish lightly n put in d curry otherwise it is superb

      Yes, this curry can be made thicker by adding less water as per your preference than what is mentioned in the video

      I have already mentioned that this is a curry with thin consistency, you can adjust the thickness of the curry by adding less water as per your preference 🙂

    Jeerem Meerem curry has to be of a thicker consistency but yours seems to be so runny!!!

      +Ingrid Fonseca, not necessary it has to be of a thicker consistency, it depends on individual preference, for thicker consistency just add less water but I prefer it this way with thin consistency 🙂
