    I can tell you one thing: having MCT oil right after dinner *_IS_* jumpstarting therapeutic ketosis for me. I'm doing this having discovered the therapeutic effect of ketosis on my degenerative disc disease while beating diabetes. Since I have plenty of extra fat, I'm breaking my daily fast with lean meat and beginning it with MCT oil. Because that's not enough for me to be in therapeutic ketosis all by itself, I'm also fasting two full days a week and eating high protein. It seems to be working for me.

      @CarbageMan 2 роки тому +8

      @@jeffmoore2351 I eat meat (ruminants, pork, fowl, seafood) to get enough protein, and add a few ounces of cruciferous vegetables, and occasionally a rice or noodle substitute from kelp or shirataki, or some such. Almost all of my vegetables are the frozen variety, typically from Costco. I like to cook my meats sous vide most of the time, except seafood, for the most part. I typically get my meats on sale and freeze them.
      I season it with onion, garlic, sea salt, peppercorn medley and spicy chiles, all dehydrated and ground freshly. I add butter and extra virgin olive oil and/or cook with it, and sometimes cook at high temps with avocado oil. That's most of what I eat, besides canned seafood., I guess. I'm generally under 10 net carbs. That stuff has a fair amount of fiber, so I'd say under 50 total, including the fiber, and usually under 25. I don't typically worry about the fiber in the cruciferous. I do keep the sugars down, though (it's gonna be over half fructose.)

She terrifies me, so I make sure my labs are good when she comes into the room. I've known her for many years, and I'd rather see her smile at me any day, than see her upset and sad that we didn't perform well as a team. Being unhealthy is hard. Should I take it in the morning with my coffee or wait till the afternoon because I do eat a pretty substantial amount of food for dinner because my husband gets off work and he’s a big eater for dinner so would it help my fat burning all day and through dinner or should I take the MTC oil a couple hours before I eat dinner. I have just that situation of high triglycerides and high glucose, I have been on keto for about 2 years. The doctor is mystified, as I eat no sugar other than what is in fruit, which I limit. Thanks for this tip, I will up my mct oil.

    • @hollyhock3945
      @hollyhock3945 2 роки тому +7

      I know this will be disappointing, but fruit is most likely what is keeping your labs from improving. Fruits have fructose and carbs, so as long as you are consuming them your body will still use them ( store them) first. Consuming higher fat foods while still consuming sugar in any form, will keep your glucose high (body releases insulin to deal with carbs) and triglycerides (fat circulating in your blood instead of burning it as energy) will stay high. Another thing that trips people up trying to do keto is eating packaged foods labelled "keto". Almost all of them promote the net carbs as super low, but when you look at total carbs, it is usually much higher.
      I hope this helps. Have a blessed day. 😊

The medication they prescribed to me ain't working, my wife who's a nurse thinks I have a fatty liver, but the doctors want me to keep trying these meds and others before they'll do anything else❗ Don't have any other choice, but to keep pushing the VA doctors or for them to refer me to someone who knows what they're doing ❗❗❗❗ Don't know how much more I have to change my diet! Can't go full blast into exercising because of injuries I sustained in service. L5-S1 fusion, surgery for right shoulder dislocation, slipped disc injury between shoulder blades, yet still lightly work out. 5' 6 and weight 189, what should be my ideal weight and eat well and healthy. I am pretty sure Thomas has videos on this, but there are also other channels who discuss the reasons for higher total and LDL on keto. Your HDL and triglycerides are more indicative of heart health and there is a formula to figure your hd risk. Some additional channels you might find helpful are Dr. Jason Fung, Dr. Ken Berry, Dr. Eric Westman, Dr. Annette Bosworth, Dr. Eric Berg, 2Fit Docs.

    Is anyone here who has experience with MCT oil, protein and especially carbs at the same meal? I know it’s not magical or „better“ than other oils but I have problems with fat digestion because of gallbladder issues. I want to know if it’s „normal“ to eat MCT oil with rice for example or is it necessary to have MCT oil by itself like the keto guys? Thank you very much for your help guys.

    • @allioop7531
      @allioop7531 2 роки тому +1

      I use 1-2 scoops of HVMN MCT oil in my coffee in the morning with powdered collagen peptides scoop & a little stevia.
      The MCT (medium chain) absorbs differently than other fats, so it should not upset the gallbladder or lack of having one. BUT, start slow until your body is used to it. Initially it can stimulate the GI tract & have you running, but once you’re used to it all is fine. Hope this helps.

    As a cyclist, I’ve been consuming a protein shake with collagen, creatinine and MCT oil and/or MCT powder before my rides. BUT! I’ve been getting stomach distress and it manifests itself as a need for “porcelain” if you get my drift…. Really puts a cramp on my club rides as I have to find a facility and that’s not always possible. Anyone else experience this? Recommendations on how to avoid it? I seem to be able to manifest more wattage output when I do use MCT, but I’m really tired of needing to find a bathroom when I’m riding.

    • @joykelly440
      @joykelly440 2 роки тому +2

      If you are staying in ketogenesis, your body should be actively burning body fat to produce fuel. Eating MCT oil, helps boost the burn.
      The body should first burn the belly fat then it will reverse fatty liver. It is a reversal process of many years of high insulin levels, which first deposits fat in the liver, then around the viscera & then the body.

    A lot of the "research" is just guessing about how things work. This is at least as rational as the claim that "calories make you fat" - they don't. Insulin makes you fat. That's a fact. I would like to know how much MCT oil one should take (eat, ingest) to best trigger these results. Is a tablespoon enough? Can you use coconut oil or is that not good enough? Some of these videos get you to the water then you're left to guess what you should do next. It's a lot like going to a Billy Graham Crusade.
