This is Livin' is literally getting me through law school. On a more important matter however, and this might be a better question for Jack (or anyone else who produces or helps produce), I am extremely interested in learning about the licensing conflicts as far as copyrights issues that may arise in regards to songs featured in the making of these videos. One observation I've made was that the songs used in the first season (Lady Lie, etc.) were actual songs, whereas in season two it seems to be more samples from the website you guys referenced in an episode of season two. I'm writing a paper for my Entertainment Law Class, my professor is super chill and has given me the freedom to write about whatever I want, and accordingly, I'd love to discuss the legal details involved with the making of the vlog. @guitarsurfer2010 concrete storm drains were the original half pipe. Lol Some boards even had metal wheels like the old roller skates. My days were of no leashes and the Beaver tail wetsuit. Old scuba gear. It worked just fine.
I'd blow my dodgy knee out trying that.....hey Jack did you put tape over the camera mic. I made that mistake for a whole trips footage of Japan about 11 years ago & it sounded all boxed in like that. You need a Rode mic, they're pretty cheap on ebay : )
100% can relate to that paralysis! Good job trying, that shit is scary. It takes just one thing to not line up and you could bust your foot, ankle, or knee (obviously this is the shit that goes through my head). Still, you have to trust that you already have the right skills to pull it off. Injuries suuuuck though. Currently having a tooth fixed from a skate accident (I don't skate. I surf. I must remember this.). I guess I wouldn't have regretted it so much if it was a surfing accident.
Used to party at JOB house on pipe when he was a lil guy , mick his pops always had the chicks from Waikiki drinking at his pad , one night I felt bad chick he was trying to get with took off with me to kahala that night , went back following day I never heard the last of it ;) miss those days !! I suppose they are pretty brave in Santa Cruz because I've seen them jump off rocks to avoid the long paddle (of course there are signs that warn against it).
