Yes! It only makes a shortcut, we still need the actual app. To remove the original from the home screen, you can long press it and select remove from home screen. That way you’ll only have the aesthetic one in the home screen.

It should save the shortcut in the shortcuts app but you’d have to add it to the homescreen again with the new picture and delete the old shortcut from the homescreen

You can’t delete the real ones since it just makes a shortcut but you can remove them from the homescreen to hide them while you have the shortcuts

I’d try checking each shortcut individually in the Shortcuts App if it’s mixing them up, there might be a duplicate.
