Bantu and bantu migration is a western concept of explaining African peoples.thats why its all over the place with all types of origins ...languages and cultural similarities grow from location and interactions with different groups of people ,so chances of having similar words, phrases amongst people of the same land mass is very high..I grew up thinking kikuyu bantus come from the congos but nop..kikuyus,merus come from northern africa and migrated south after the assyrian invasion 663,667 BCE

I learned from my tribe elders that our ancestors migrated from Misri, which is Swahili for Egypt. There was a large Bantu population in ancient Egypt, however the imperialists history doesn't tell it. Africans can rewrite their own history.

I feel like the connection to Egypt is something they really hate because think about it who really built a pyramids we did there's more pyramids in Sudan than Egypt and Sudan was known as the kingdom of Nubia and the Western world still hasn't figured out how to read the original cush language if modern day Somalians and Ethiopians are the same people from Egypt shouldn't they be able to decipher the Kush language the funny thing is it's easy to find out what the West is hiding because the truth has to come out they just have to make sure it doesn't reach a broad audience but if you do enough research you'll find the truth

@@adeolukoya8901 sometimes history can be distorted or only a part of it is kept or it's exaggerated or misinterpreted. For example the middle Eastern roots often came because of Islam so people want to claim Arab ancestry to be closer to Muhammad's lineage. You're Yoruba i think so it's a possibility. It can also only refer to a small part of your ancestry like an African american claiming an irish background because of 10% of his white ancestry or a latino claiming Yoruba ancestry while only being 20% african

Those are Northern Congolese tribe names and are heavily related to Sudanese and nilotic tribes in Uganda and South Sudan as well as West Africans. Some of these people even have same names like 'Emeka' , 'Egbende' , 'Adole' , 'Kpakpo' etc they are who we label BaNgalas cus most of those are descendants of force publique tribes and nilotics from Chad and South Sudan.
A Kikongo name is something like Malonda, Mavinga, Malenga, Masamba, Mbala, Malonga, Sumbu, Pambou, Lutumba, Milandu, Nzinga, Luyeye, Lukebakio, Ndombele, Lukoki, Matondo, Nkunku, Mvemba/Mbemba and so much more. Extremely different to Northern DRC.
Lots of Congolese that say they're 'BaKongo' are not even related to us or our subtribes and typically they cannot speak an authentic kikongo dialect such as Kiyombe, KiKugni or Tshivili but they will speak Lingala a creole language based on Western Bantu tribes with like 40% vocabulary coming from Bobangi-Nunu with also some Sudanese languages like Lugbara -boni yo..how are you/you okay in Lingala and in Lugbara they say 'ngoni'with same meaning?🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Lingala is a creole for DRC. They steal too much from Kikongo in recent years too in Kinshasa especially.

We seriously have barely any relations to those in the rest of DRC Congo. People in Kinshasa you can't take their tribes seriously if they barely know their culture or language. Long story short the BesiNgombe are a subgroup of the BesiKongos. They need to learn KiSiKongo cus that's the language they should be speaking.

Earliest human achiological finding are found in the southern, and Native San people who live in the Botswana Namibia remained there while the was ancient migration northern.
Meaning what you call Bantu originally migrated to North and West Africa in prehistoric times.
    And continued to migrate overtime.
Then the Sahara Desert was once wet and eventually dried, so over time you could have had the Bantu migration back to the southern region and towards the Nile River to the east.
Back then they were not organized communities we have today that can move at once in an organised migration, or conquest, displacing the natives. people moved gradually, as individuals, and as small groups of hunters. And Africa was a peaceful nation, we had not much conquests of land and wars.
We only had minor tribal raid for resources, like cattle and women.
Land we believe and still do that the creater was the owner of land, we are just beneficiaries.
Why people didn't have armies and migrated a lot especially when food and other resources got depleted.
We Africans didn't have were welcoming and peace loving people, didn't have large armies for war. The ideas of war are foreign to Us, foreigner took advantage of this, we welcomed them openly, then they conquered us. Same thing happened in Egypt, initially Egypt had no armies, but eventually did to protect itself from conquests.
War ideas of conquest developed in the Europe where land was scarce and people fought for it, here in Africa we had abundance of land and resources that there was enough for everyone not to have permanent claims or go to war for it.
    So The Bantu migration.
This was more a return, or those who had moved south, some moved back to the south others went east to the North. These regions were less populated and organised than they are today, so there were not that many natives or displacement. Those natives who were there are those who had remained in the region, and continued to develop there, even those who remained still migrated within the region.
Human civilization if you follow achiology, DNA, and advancement in pottery and metalogy etc it started in the Southern Africa and developed as it went left.
The architecture of Great Zimbabwe was developed in the Southern in the Mapungubwe areas where South Africa, Zimbabwe and Botswana meet,
The same system of architecture was the same used to construct the Egyptian pyramids.
You might think the Egyptian pyramids are only in Egypt but in Africa there are more pyramids out of Egypt than they are in Egypt, if you move from Pyramids in Egypt back South into Africa along the Nile River following the Architecture you can see pyramids they developed from within Africa, from Sudan, Ethiopia, the Egyptian took copied and advanced the architecture before it was copied and advanced in the middle East Persian , and it was copied and advanced by the Greek and other Europeans.
But the origin of that architecture is southern Africa, it advanced as you moved north.
You can also follow the development history of pottery making along the same lines, starting in its primitive stage in the Southern Africa to through it's development as you moved north, unit the shape, and decorative have improved.
You can also do the same for ritual and religious beliefs, the writing once simple cave paintings developed to language and other developments that were advanced in Egypt, they started in the South, got developed as we moved north, most didn't spontaneous appear, they were copied from South and advanced by the North.
Most want to ignore these historical data and evidence and think development was a top bottom thing we're it came from God's and Advanced civilization trickling down south then it happened the other way from it's primitive stage in the Southern Africa and get advanced as we moved north.
The southern Africa was the roots of civilization that got advanced in the north.
Greeks often gets much credit of some ideas which they saw copied from Egypt, Africa and gave new names. Even the Greek gods themselves are copy of Egypt, African gods with new faces but same meaning. Their God had to Go to back Africa once a year least they become mortals again.
Borders were brought in recently, Africa was just one and human had freedom of movement, movement was not in one direction or specific directions, it was all over, over the whole period.
People could move North as simply as they could move North, but those who look down upon the black south want to believe migration was only one way from north to South.
They ignore movement and evidence of South to North movement because they never wanted to give credit to the black African, and his contributions to modern civilization.

This is a great video. Super interesting history. Some questions occurred to me while watching:
    1) Did the Bantu people learn about iron because they got it from the Phoenicians? Or did iron appear in the central part of the African continent more or less at the same time as it did in the Eastern Mediterranean, somewhere around 2000 BCE approximately, and spread to West Africa giving rise to the beautiful metal sculptures of the Oyo and other Empires,, many of which were looted and housed in British museums?
    2) Where did the Phoenician writing system originate?
Again, super interesting history. Thanks for making this video!

I did some other research after watching this, and from that research learned that metal working in West Africa is older than that of the Phoenicians. Also the Phoenician's learned writing through trade with Egypt. However the original alphabet, called Proto-Sinaitic, was developed by Semitic workers and slaves living in Egypt. It was influenced by Egyptian hieratic which is a cursive script.

This video is pure nonsense lol every language in Zambia does not come from Nyanja. According to my Bemba brothas, Nyanja is an invented language based on the Chichewa language as a lingua franca for the capital Lusaka. Bemba is older than Nyanja!

    • @user-vw6bk4pb4l
      @user-vw6bk4pb4l 2 роки тому +1

Nyanja is not an invented language or lingua franca, that's a myth popular in Zambia, I also learnt that growing up in LSK. It is actually the same language as Chichewa, and linguist and historians agree on this.
In Malawi, they spoke 'Nyanja' but changed the name to 'Chichewa' during the independence decade, named after the Chewa people for nationalistic reasons. Since then, the languages have diverged like America English and British English, but are still the same language.

    (America's)
    deuteronomy 28
"I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt (Bondage), out of the land of slavery.
Then the LORD will make you return to Egypt (Bondage) by Ships, over a route (America's) I said to you that you would never see again
A foreign nation (America's) you have never heard about.
A nation (America's) unknown to you or your ancestors.
A nation against you from far away, (America's) from the ends of the earth, like an eagle (America's) swooping down.
A nation (America's) whose language you shall not understand.
A fierce and heartless nation (America's) that shows no respect for the old and no pity for the young.
Will scatter you among all the nations from one end of the earth to the other.
And you shall become a horror, a proverb, and a byword (N-Word) among all the peoples where the LORD will lead you away.
A people that you do not know (America's) will eat what your land and labor produce, and you will have nothing but cruel oppression all your days.
You will be unsuccessful in everything you do; day after day you will be oppressed and robbed, with no one to rescue you.
The foreigners who reside among you will rise above you higher and higher, but you will sink lower and lower.
You will be pledged to be married to a woman, but another will take her and rape her. You will build a house, but you will not live in it. You will plant a vineyard, but you will not even begin to enjoy its fruit. Your ox will be slaughtered before your eyes, but you will eat none of it. Your donkey will be forcibly taken from you and will not be returned. Your sheep will be given to your enemies, and no one will rescue them. Your sons and daughters will be given to another nation, and you will wear out your eyes watching for them day after day, powerless to lift a hand. A people that you do not know will eat what your land and labor produce, and you will have nothing but cruel oppression all your days. The sights you see will drive you mad
They will lend to you, but you will not lend to them. They will be the head, but you will be the tail
They will be a sign and a wonder to you and your descendants forever.
Because you did not serve the Lord your God joyfully and gladly in the time of prosperity therefore in hunger and thirst, in nakedness and dire poverty, you will serve the enemies the Lord sends against you. He will put an iron yoke on your neck until he has destroyed you.
The Lord will drive you and the king you set over you to a nation (America's) unknown to you or your ancestors. There you will worship other gods, gods of wood (Cross) and (Kabaa) stone.
You will live in constant suspense, filled with dread both night and day, never sure of your life.
When all these blessings and curses I have set before you come on you and you take them to heart wherever the Lord your God disperses you among the nations, and when you and your children return to the Lord your God and obey him with all your heart and with all your soul according to everything I command you today, then the Lord your God will restore your fortunes and have compassion on you and gather you again from all the nations where he scattered you.”
But I will punish the nation they serve as slaves, and afterward they will come out with great possessions."
    Amos 9:7
Are ye not as children of the Cushites unto me, O children of Israel? saith the Lord. Have not I brought up Israel out of the land of Egypt?)
In Zephaniah 3:10, the prophet proclaims:
From beyond the rivers of Cush my worshipers, my scattered people, will bring me offerings
God is speaking of gathering His lost sheep back to Him. Beyond the rivers of Ethiopia - which is East Africa - lies West Africa.
    Revelation 2:9
I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.
    Isaiah 42:22
But this is a people robbed and spoiled; they are all of them snared in holes, and they are hid in prison houses: they are for a prey, and none delivereth; for a spoil, and none saith, Restore.

Knowledge of iron in bantu did not come from Phoenicians.
Knowledge of iron in west Africa is thought to have developed independently from the rest of the world as they went straight from stone to iron. It goes back to Western Africa with the Nok people in northern Nigeria being the first society known so far to do it on a wide scale. It is likely they got it from the Nok as they also came from west Africa

    • @estajeanette7487

Bantus don't come form nok, Nigeria, or west Africa. They come form central congo. There is no evidence that Bantus are form west Africa. Anywhere beyond Cameron .

    • @halohair1118
      @halohair1118 Рік тому

@@estajeanette7487 evidence suggest they came from somewhere that seems to be the grasslands of Cameroon which is close to south eastern Nigeria and Cameroon is considered a part of both west and central Africa . I said that you were incorrect when you said knowledge of iron working diffused from North Africa.
It was once theorized that iron working came from diffusion across the Sahara but in depth analysis how showed there is no evidence for this occurring, rather Iron working was discovered Independently in west Africa which was then by proximity discovered by the proto Bantu population who then brought it with them in their migration

    • @estajeanette7487
      @estajeanette7487 Рік тому

      @halohair1118 Рік тому

@@estajeanette7487 apologies, for some reason I thought you were the one who made the video who claimed they got it from diffusion from Phoenicians. My bad
And I never said they came from the Nok as if they are descended from them but that the knowledge of iron working likely diffused from Nok/ west Africa.
Though there are some populations in west Africa more specifically south eastern Nigeria that share genetics with Bantu and Bantu populations although not directly descended from west Africans and have a distinct lineage, do share affinities with west Africans but more specifically those in the grassland and forest region less so the Sahel. Populations such as Yoruba, Igbo, ijaw, Fon, Ewe, Yacouba etc but almost completely absent in populations like the Mandinka, Fulani, Soninke, Hausa etc
There is a “basal” west African root seen in both Bantu and West Africans, though they diverged some time ago. A genetic map of Bantu speakers show all Bantu people have a good deal of similarities to certain west African populations, though it varies depending on the region and ethnic group depending on where as they mixed and fused with different populations as they moved. But yea you are right they don’t “descend from them” as if a direct line, but they have a common origin

      Small correction:
Chichewa and Chinyanja are the same languages. That's like comparing British English and American English. Chichewa is not Nguni at all and is related to Nyanja, Tumbuka, Senga, Nsenga, Mang'anja. It came from the Maravi Kingdom of Eastern Zambia, Malawi and Northern Mozambique, not South Africa or Nguni. You are talking about the Ngoni people. A Zulu tribe that fled South Africa and settled amongst the Maravi. Some Ngoni people speak Zulu/Ngoni, and others adopted Maravi languages like Tumbuka.

The preBantu hunter gatherer societies assimilated into the larger more stable bantu nations. That is why many Xhosas or Tswana clans etc still recognise their khoikhoi or San heritage. Even today if you look in Botswana most San now speak Tswana. In the Eastern cape most Khoikhoi now speak Xhosa.

Please update yourself on the latest research. You are relying entirely on theories and hypotheses invented by European linguists and 'scholars' over 50 years ago! Very disregarding our history. History is identity, a very sensitive topic, not to be taken lightly. Are black people too stup*d to preserve or reliably investigate our history? Only European narratives are valid?
Pottery and iron smelting developed earlier in 'Subsaharan' Africa than anywhere in North Africa or Europe and at the same time or earlier than in West Asia! We domesticated sorghum, millet, yams, melons, coffee, teff, aurochs and African rice. The Mediterranean world and Egypt consumed wheat and barley. If those people could invent metallurgy and agriculture why couldn't we? Iron ore smelting from 2000 BC has been discovered at at least 3 sites across West and Central Africa whilst Carthage is 400BC-700BC at the earliest.
The idea that post-stone age technology in Subsaharan Africa must have been diffused from Phoenicians or Caucasians in the North or Eurasia is a baseless and outdated colonial-era myth. And so is the Bantu migration from West Africa. Read the latest research on the desertification of the Green Sahara, the development of a sedentary lifestyle, metallurgy and agriculture in the West/Central Africa, Sudan and Ethiopian Highlands. Recently, DNA analysis from 4000BC from the Cameroon highlands nearly Nigeria disproved the Bantu homeland.
And I'm not one of these people saying we're from Egypt, Israel or the Middle East(i don't have evidence for that), I'm talking about facts that are now mainstream academic debate. We are not from West Africa but have common ancestors who diverged in the green Sahara and Nile Valley after 3000BC, due to desertification and countless possible reasons.
