I might be wrong, but I think what's misleading about the term 5G when it comes to certain models, is it can't support all version's of 5G, I think the Velvet won't support the mmwave of 5G if I'm not mistaken, so if I'm right, you have to ask yourself, why pay more for 5G phones unless your absolutely sure in your location, it's going to be worth it? Keep in mind, mmwave does not work indoors as well,
The v50 is a nice phone but I had issues with downloading games and other apps and calls dropping not long after starting them. I had like 4 replacements and all did the same thing and never knew the issue.

I have a G8X it's fantastic. Stereo speakers are average,battery life is pretty good and performance is close to top tier. The camera is AMAZING with Gcam. However while the stock video recording is good,the stock camera app puts out fairly flat photos. Great phone though,I would recommend it to anyone who's considering it, especially if you can get the dual screen with it.
Pretty sure both do, but I would make sure to check with your carrier. Because that's where it really matters. I recently switched carriers because I was told my perfectly volte capable phone was incompatible with their service. So I switched over to a service where my phone _was_ compatible. Oddly enough, my new carrier (Mint Mobile) isn't compatible with the V50. But is with the G8. So, I'll probably be picking up a G8 here pretty soon.

Don't risk it on AT&T with that G8... I'm constantly having issues with calls that I didn't have with the G6- and mine is the Sprint version. I would look for a factory unlocked or different carrier unlocked version.

I literally spent a good amount of time comparing these 2 just yesterday; the same day you dropped the vid. Crazy timing. I've been thinking about picking up one to use as a music player/back up phone to my OP7Pro. After some time, and with the help of your vid, I think I'm gonna go with the G8. I kinda wanted something on the smaller side and I think it would be perfect. Side note and something your viewers should be wary of, and definitely the thing that solidified my choice of the G8, was the fact that my MVNO (Mint Mobile) is not compatible with the V50. I'd guess with all the changes and upgrades going on with network infrastructure, this would also be the case with other carriers. Mint runs off of T-Mobile, so maybe the V50 wouldn't work with them either. Not sure. I recently had to switch from Cricket to Mint because Cricket suspended my account for an "incompatible" phone because of all the network changes going on. So I'd probably check with the carrier just to make sure the V50 will work. If it wasn't for all that, I just might have decided on it over the G8🤷♂️ Thanks man!

They both use a heat pipe but the V50's is better. I'm guessing the speed difference is the slightly faster storage in the V50 and the better temps.
I did a speed test on both of mine and the G8 is faster and the better phone. V50 doesn't feel good in the hand either like the G8.

Either of them is great just make sure to buy the Korean version if you want the best hardware and software such as : camera, auto call recording....
