I hope you realize what a absolutely wonderful gift that you gave your daughter. While the geodes are beautiful, the time and attention and love you lavished on your girl is priceless. 🎉❤🎉❤

My great, great grandparents bought some property after the land run in Oklahoma took place. There were red rocks with white veins in the middle of the rock. We used to go to the old home place and pick up rocks and break them with a hammer. I still have some to this day.

That's awesome! My parents used to break geodes with me when I was younger!

Loved seeing that you let your daughter have a hands on experience with this - it's so important to allow them their inquisitive process. Some parents have to "do it right".... but then there's you really doing it right!!

I have been there several times. Really good if you know what layer of rock to dig in.
There is an 18 inch layer jammed packed with geodes. It is just above the hard grey shale layer.
We filled several buckets in 4 hours.

Nice! We plan to go back soon! We will likely do a longer trip and hit 2 or 3 different mines while we're up there. I'll get the video up after that trip. Thanks for checking it out!

If you spray the mud off before breaking them, it's a much easier process!
