How good it is that there is competition between TDS and TDX and each game tries to release high-quality and fast updates, let's hope that such competition will last for a long time, because we will benefit from it ☺️
For you TDX kids saying copy, let’s go over a few things:
1. Name being “intermediate” is like TDX. But it’s not. We had an intermediate mode back in 2019. Also it makes sense because we have an “Easy” mode now, so it only makes sense if it’s called “Intermediate.” Also this mode is designed around intermediate towers. So the name has nothing to do with TDX.
2. Patient Zero is like Plague Doctor. This just isn’t true. They have a nuclear theme, and that’s it! They don’t look similar. Also if you say “copy” because of a nuclear theme, than we can say Plague Doctor copied the Nuclear Guardians from PWII because they both have the same plague doctor mask, but the Nuclear Guardians came out first.
3. Killing towers. No Patient Zero does not kill towers. It kills units, and that has been a feature in TDS. Also TDS had the killing towers feature way back in 2019, even if he killed the towers.
4. Wave structure. They are completely different. They are two separate things. Play both modes and the wave structure is completely different.
So no, stop being desperate and saying that TDS copied TDX. Just play the TD game you like, but don’t say crap before doing research.
How you manage to add context to the most obvious visual differences is amazing. This is beyond yapping.
Who said that lmfao, either way this upd was somewhat disappointing, just play fallen, the difficulty spike between the modes are so small lol, I wish they made it harder than fallen, tds was alr so easy and they just made it easierb

Also I think it’s a good thing they worry about intermediate players too. They can’t only focus their game on extremely high lvl players.

idk fallen is easier than this one for me. 30 waves so strong guys spawn earlier and enemies get more hp with waves and health regen. Only the boss is easier than the fallen king, but overall soloing this is mostly harder than fallen idk for 2-4 players

Also btw idk how this rumor started but no, patient zero can’t kill towers, it can however target and kill spawned units which is something all the bosses can do. Also for those saying that his mechanical arm is a clear copy from predator, I’m pretty sure this boss was first showcased in an update forecast that came long before predator

I love to believe the lore for intermediate is that patient zero is working with fallen king or something, unlikely but I like that.
The fact this is the only boss has an accurate design and animation than the other bosses :I
Even though the mode seems a bit too easy for me I'll overall give this update an 8/10

ngl this is a great intermediate mode because the original medium mode was a pushover being molten mode
the difficulty is not in the hp of the enemies (because 2,000 is very low for a miniboss) its the mechanics and spam of enemies. the boss is really easy, but a spam of wave 20 enraged's or reavers can easily get past your accelerators/slow firing towers, especially when on maps with paths that dont loop around.

Just to explain to new players, amalgamation used to be a menace in pw1, it used to heal a TOOONNN and it even spawns its fleshlings WHILE ITS HEALING. I used to die so many times just to the first amalgamation cuz we didn’t have a strong enough accel to kill it, and by kill it I mean you cannot leave it alone for like five seconds max or else it’ll start healing like crazy and ur basically dead at that point
To the people who think the gamemode sucks
Firstly if you think its too easy then try solo molten then fallen and see the skill gap, i beat molten using nothing but militant and fallen im bringing the best stuff in the game, my biggest flaw with the game previously was that skill gap making new players stuck soloing molten until they unlock hardcore to get accelerator. Now they get intermediate a perfect in-between mode that doesn't take weeks to get the necessary towers to beat it thats why i love the mode for newer players including me because i had to grind molten over and over to get gold crates and it was too easy, now i get a gamemode, when speedran about 1.4 times faster then molten and way more fun to play, like seriously bro newer players get no mode to play but molten and normal and late game players get 4 gamemodes to play.
And yes i do want a new gamemode thats actually really difficult but think about the new players next time you want to yell at the developers that put a lot of effort onto the new intimidating mode.

John are no longer working with tds, the mode itself have been alr teased way before tdx released. They only do that now either because tdx exist or since raz left

im not trying to hate on tds but i think isnt it jus a little bit copying tdx? first trappers in tdx theres already mine laye they are (almost) the same and then theres mercenary base its just barracks but even more op and now i ntermediatee mode its not just stealing the name but the boss just almost have the same debuffs thet he can give to your tower like killing them lowering their dps well i mean dont get me wrong john use to worked for tds (i think?) eitheray for trapper and mine layer theyre just copying btd 6 with their spike factory
Mine layer is not an original concept. Almost every TD game has it. It’s like the Minigunner tower. It’s a concept.
Mercenary base has nothing to do with barracks. Mercenary base has 10x more features and more units. Two completely different towers other than two units.
As for the gamemode, explained a lot in other comments. You should check it out.
