Cracking Spaniard Adam... every bit of 30kg. Once they get close to 1.8M they are always over 25kg, but your fish had girth as well. Fantastic fishing on the rods that arvo session. Good times with good friends is what fishing trips are all about.

Just a couple inches to low on that Spanish mackerel. Spear at the end of the pectoral fin on the lateral line, and you will stone it every time. You can see a line running down the length of the fish put your spear on that .just behind the pectoral fin.

Man that's a ripper first spanish! I still haven't speared one that big n ive speared a fair few! Gaffed him in the water lol! Grab their tail then work your non dominant hand into it's gills then the fish is yours, brain spike n bleed n done. You got him though! Well done!
