- Toys R Us is looking to make a major comeback, announcing this week it plans to expand its brick and mortar operations and add 24 new flagship stores in the country. (Sept. 30, 2023)

As an adult who grew up in the 90s id definitely like to walk inside a toys r us
As an adult, I remember walking through them in the 70s before you were even thought of.
This is a dream that's too good to be true. Either way, I hope the locations are convenient this time, or I'd rather they'd just expand the inside of Macy's
I actually hope they make a comeback, theres no good places tbat have a large selection of toys. I have a 5 year old son thats never experienced walking into a toys R us.

The key is 2 billion in global retail....GLOBAL, yet they have no huge retail stores in the U.S. They're doing great outside the U.S, however they need to bring back the real full sized stores. Kids need to be hands-on with the toys, not just ordering online while looking at a picture. That's the real magic or retail, being able to touch and see the item with your own eyes.

An architect showed me some of the new floor plans for the store layouts, and the Toys R Us selection of communities to go into. There is protection software and strategically placed cameras, additional security posts so shoppers won't have their purses stolen, deterrence against theft, even pedestrian and vehicular safety measures outside. The measures won't be as stringent as going through an airport TSA screening, but the design features and protocols should really help people feel good about shopping in their brick and mortar stores.
That’s more surveillance than Walmart even has, even after installing cameras into self-checkouts and swapping their wholesome greeters out for stringent receipt checkers.
At least parents will have a REAL toy store to take their children instead of scrolling online with their fingers or mouse! NOTHING can take the place of letting children express all their senses with toys in person!

Is it necessary to be at Airports and cruise? No
Because with gas prices soaring to the stars won't be enough to buy that one toy you, your family, your pet, your life saving and house want. That they should make it publicly

Never really shopped there, it was more expensive than other shops. However, do understand the need, in some places that was the only place to purchase toys as there were no malls, Target or Walmart options.

What killed Toy's R Us was that through time, everything got overpriced. If they make a comeback, they really need to adjust their prices.
I miss Toys R Us, but I dont know how they will do it considering kids want electronics. Toddlers are the ones who want toys but if its not cheap, parents wont buy it. Also, you cant sell toys that theres no demand for, ive seen a lot of unsold toys in clearance shops
Children LOVE Bluey. Cocomelon, too. If they can get exclusive toys licensed in their names, they'd be well on their way to making a comeback.
