I know there are many issues to fix and some comfort features to add, but I was really hoping for more rendering improvements. Unreal Engine was ahead before, but it keeps getting better and better at fast pace and the gap is getting bigger and bigger. At least a basic implementation of raytracing or moving objects in SDFGI would be nice. Even better SSR or adding motionblur would be a nice benefit. FSR 2.2 is the only real highlight there.
Yup the rendering side is kinda meh with this update. Though if you have the courage to open twitter, then go to Juans account u can see some screenshots of his new GI solution(s).
i ran into a small nightmare last night moving files and duplicating scenes in Godot 4.1.2, luckily its more of a testbed project with me throwing shit at the wall, ill be more careful in future.
I'm interested in the FSR 2.2 compatibility. So far I have only been able to play with it as a player, now I can better test what it can and can't do. I wonder if it works in 2D as well.
Godot is the first engine I've actually loved. using unity made me feel cold inside. Love to see godot get even better
I really appreciate that you mention the contributors to these new updates/fixes! The contributors are the heroes in any open source project.

@@S4AAS danke!
Great video cheers for this!
Hyped for this update. been following the pr's. All my main issues look to have been resolved!
Jup 4.2 fixed a lot of issues and improved small stuff rather than adding big new features.
Man, typed dictionaries in the editor is the feature im most excited for.
These are some really neat changes!
wow this is a significant improvement in quality of life
I love how one of the most dedicated contributors is a person named mewpurpur and they only deal with SVGs
LETS GOOOOOOOO
it randomly crashes when you rename a script that is attached to a node placed in some scene
Ouch! Have u made a bug report?
@@S4AAS no I switched to bevy.
@@sunofabeach9424 lmao, wait 1 year to be frustrated and make your own game engine
CollisionShapes resizing rework made life a hue brighter.
Faster than GFS too, Saas.
Lmao I love the metric "faster than GFS"

Hopefully u won't have to be more careful cause those issues got fixed :)

I think FSR is 3D only, though it could very well be that I'm wrong
@@S4AAS Like TAA and FXAA, FSR1/2 only have an effect on 3D rendering, not 2D.
Still needs like 20 more years before it becomes usable.
dude are you kidding? number #20 is a kind of an owner of godot.
No one owns Godot (:
@@S4AAS ofcourse. so kind of part comes from that
