Hello, I am aware of IS CALCULATION concept. But for one loop only. Like BARRIER to JB to LT. But I am not sure how would be the process for IS like this case. BARRIER to JB to FIT to FE? How is The cable from FIT for FE considered in calculation?
Excellent, clear, simple and straightforward basic explanation of the main aspects and concepts of intrinsic safety. Congratulations! Just a small conceptual comment: both "classified" and "unclassified" areas need to be considered and deemed as "SAFE". Electrical, automation and instrumentation installations, in both cases, need to use equipment with appropriate "Ex" protection types (in classified areas) or associated equipment (in non-classified areas), in addition to performing the applicable installation, inspection and maintenance "Ex" service procedures, according to IEC 60079-14 and IEC 60079-17. 👍 Thus, it is suggested to use the term "UNCLASSIFIED AREA" or "NON HAZARDOUS AREA" instead of "SAFE AREA".
@JojiJose90 Since this morning I am struggling in finding this answer on the web. Still did not find it, though. My hypothesys is that the instrument will have Vo, Io, Po max out towards safety barrier. The contacts of the barrier supposed to be connected with input from field, (different from passive circuits) will have their maximum input Vi, Ii, Pi. Concerning the overall energy stored in C and L of barrier and cables should I still believe they should not exceed the max allowed by Instrument Co max and Lo max. (practically speaking the reverse of normal verification). I am looking for a confirmation but I could not find anything yet. Your question was raised long time ago but in the meantime did you manage to obtain the answer? it would be very helpful form me and maybe someone else with same question. Thanks in advance. Elvio
Great Explanation ..Loved how you made it so easy !!
Its very simple and very nicely explained please explain with some practical examples
This is an outstanding introduction. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for your feedback

Great job explaining the meaning of intrinsic safety. Thanks!
You are welcome, thanks for watching!
Great lesson Sir, please do all types of protection with animation.
what is the procedure to open IS instrument in hazardous location?
Simply superb.
very useful information
Very informative video.. can you please also explain the scenario when the circuit is powered from hazardous area( active signals)?
