You know Chuck just in your other video you and your Mom discussed about your behavior as a young man well look through all that silliness as any teenager going through life and look today what a Man you became today i deeply respect what you doing for your Mom today You really are her Rock
your mam has lost so much weight and looks so much more healthy brother , shows Thailand has a better healthy lifestyle , things will only get better for you all and i pray for good things for you all ....
Hey Chuck and Paige and Mom kara and Thai Girl Gift and Foreigner Joe, great video. I have thought about getting a tattoo but I just haven't pulled the trigger on that one yet. At 75 do I want to get one but why not. Your Mom is looking real happy and her place is really looking great. That green color is very appealing. I think in the long run she is going to be very happy. Good luck on your trip to the island and have a great time.
Good night from Badajoz (Spain),...Chuck and page. I follow your videos with interest,... you bring us another way of life through your eyes. You are lucky to have your mother living with you, I am happy to see you. Thank you Page and Chuck.
Hiya. Chuck and Paige. Gift and Joe. The views of the water and boats are gorgeous. 💕 Sorry to hear about your hearing. My hearing and eyesight are getting worse as I age. Solar module thing. I need one of those too. 😆🤣 I am terrible some days remembering words. Imp, is lovely. Have a great day.
I asked that lovely waitress at the German restaurant the same question about how she learned English as she speaks so well. I also mentioned to her that she has an American accent maybe from the TV shows she watches. She is a superstar for sure! Thank you for another great video 😁
Hi Chuck and Paige thank you for the video. Kara is looks so happy. The waitress was so good at speaking English and very nice person. Looking forward to your trip. Enjoy
I really appreciate your ideas about learning a new language as an adult. It makes sense to learn the words as something new and not try to relate them to what you already know.
Love this video & your word of the day Chuck! So happy to see your mom getting along well in PK not to mention you & Paige, Gift & Joe hanging out together again:) We’re now back in San Francisco & watching your videos bring joy to my life and help me keep the dream of moving to Thailand alive😉 Thanks for sharing this awesome vlog🙏🏼
You're comment on learning, I agree 100%! I just started taking private Thai lesson. It's going to be a long road but I'm up for the challenge. It will happen!
Have tried twice. My 3 Thai tutors were stuck in the groove, teaching me like a kid in school, rote learning, using that mickey mouse language, so I gave up. Trying again on the internet, going direct Thai to English
Geeze Chuck I was really enjoying another great show of notimetobesad, and then you killed it at the end with talk about taxes, reminding me what's been procrastinated . . . & Lookin fwd to your charge build, to see if you opt on a DC to DC direct system and how much u need to step it up to match the battery charge voltage short of inverting to 230 ac and using the supplied charge circuit to get back down..
Great video as always check. Chuck make sure you go to the VA on your ears since you think it's military related. You need to get it documented and possibly compensated.
@@janetstotler399, I have been to the Embassy many times but never seen anything to do with the VA. Is it maybe in one of the towers across the street?
I have found in the Philippines at least in a hardware store nothing is where you think it should be. For example I was looking for something to hang stuff on concrete walls and did find something but the today I was was looking for something else and they told me where it was and there was the stuff I wanted in the first place. Go figure.
I am over 60 but I will definitely go to a school and learn Thai when I get there. I have taught myself to read Thai, but I have to keep relearning because I forget some if I leave it for awhile. I went to Japan for a year and learned some basic Japanese and I am also trying to learn some Tagalog, so you a right, Chuck, you can learn.
Hi Chuck, really enjoyed this video. Everything electrical is exciting to me. Transportation, wind and solar are all very cool, so you working on your moms solar panels is entertaining and educational to me. Thanks.
Language learning takes time. Simple as that. Children take about eleven years to learn to express and understand high level conversation. That's what a childhood education professional told me anyway. I asked, she answered, and that's what I'm going with. Eleven years. Along comes the expats and they make a half-assed effort in a three month class then throw their hands up in frustration. Too old, too hard, I don't have time, etc. Bunch of BS. If you're planning on retiring somewhere that you don't speak the language and *not* planning to learn that language--that's a bad plan. We as adults have more tools at our disposal for learning, so I think it can be done in less than eleven years, but be honest. Most expats don't really put in the work. Try harder. Try longer. Don't expect fast.
For me, as not native English speaker, I honestly don't understand someone at first if he speaks English to me when I don't expect to be talked in English to. So maybe that's the same with the Thais here, they usually don't expect the foreigners to talk in Thai to them so they don't understand in first. Or maybe not, what do I know😅 Nice video, always interested to follow your journey. Greetings from Nakhon Phanom. - Tian
Top of the morning, Chuck ! Thanks for explaining about your hearing….now it makes sense. I lose hearing from internal wax build up…and simple process to clear it up….yours is a different issue…be nice to clear that up for sure…..ok. ….brother…maybe a small windmill to generate electricity…what do ya think…😊
You commented about having all you stuff to do your taxes. Do you have someone send your mail from the US or use a service? Just curious for future planning. Thank!
All Tax info can be done online, You can request 1099 or w2 online. You can do turbo tax or file online direct with irs www.irs.gov/filing/free-file-do-your-federal-taxes-for-free. Thai taxes are paid at your province or you can also set up an online account for Thai's
Morning from sunny Goldcoast Australia. Has your mum tried making friends with her neighbours dog? That constant barking would drive me nuts. I know everyone in Thailand has a noisy dog or rooster so l guess you get used to it, like living near an airport or a train station 😪
Chuck! I'm at the Landmark hotel next to the Naga monument. Where should i go for a beer? Any recommendations will be appreciated! Tomorrow we go back to Maha Sarakham. Love your channel.
I think what you're trying to say Chuck is one or the other person in the conversation is impatient which puts up a mental barrier that hinders understanding. Your observation about children was spot on concerning their ability to be quicker than us Old Farts on the up take!😛
Shopping and having a laugh with your mum speaks volumes .Me, never ever would i have shopped with my mum 555 ,but i'd give everything up just for one last ''BEAR HUG '' from her one last time .Sorry chuck ,it's seeing you and your mum together ,Thankfully i never stopped telling her how i felt 🥹
omg, 23 min in, spit my drink all over my screen So TRUE!!! stlll asking why I can't eat the paste glue 0.0... why are adults so studgy and weird. let me live my life
Thanks for sharing, yes Gift and Paige always look good, “wee stoaters” as we say where I come from. My doctor told me there was name for the condition where a word is on the tip of your tongue but won’t come out, but he’d forgotten what it was.
IF someone who speaks english (especially native speaker) and DOESENT understand when that waitress speak english , then they need to go and see doctor or somemkind of specialist to check they brains/ears , i am not native english speaker and to me she speak perfectly fine.
Chuck Rather than just charging your mom's scooter from solar, something to consider might be a solar Inverter/AC solar system that could be used for charging and saving money on AC. Kara looks so happy and content. I’m so glad she found her happy place in PK. So proud of you Chuck, for being such a supportive son.👍😊
🥰

Hi page and chuck and gift Joe and mum great blog as always hope you are all well stay safe in Thailand 🇹🇭 😊 😀 ☺️ 🙂 😄
I really enjoyed your conversation with the young lady at the restaurant. She's a quality person and I wish her the best and I know you do to .

I love Kara's hairstyle make her look younger 20 years old and easy to take care.

Can you buy solar blankets in Thailand? I just lay them on top of my camper I couldn’t do that with panels, blankets are more flexible. Be lighter?
I’m deaf too I hardly can ever tell what Paige is saying she’s too soft spoken
Good Times Ahead...Yaaay.

The P.I. was VERY windy too !!

Took a lump sum on my exit 29 years ago, Ex enjoyed it...
Believe it or not, there’s an American VA CENTER in Bangkok near the Embassy. They have a Dr. Also.

I'm quite sure Chuck is well versed in Thai !
@Jamie lol I wasn't suggesting Chuck could learn. I was saying Chuck was right, people can learn
It didn't! Rough ride, sorry! Just saw this after the wild ride! Ty@

Many places along the river by clock tower
@@notime2bsad Thank you. We explored the clock tower area and enjoyed ourselves. Without your suggestion we wouldn't have wandered that way.
We also have a hard time hearing Paige and Kara when you are walking outdoors.
How did you and your wife meet Joe and his wife? Do you have video when you first met? What was your first impression ?
We have many videos in our playlist thanks for watching. Here is one of many ua-cam.com/video/Ogn4rwhcv10/v-deo.html
Well, Cara, how is that blood pressure unit, any good?? We need to get something like that.
Works great and my blood pressure is perfect, no stress in Thailand 😀

I do know from experience that raising your voice (right or wrong) when doing business in Thailand is considered rude!
True…and when he talks about raising his voice it’s the tone rather than the volume….:-))
I believe that would be the case anywhere. No need to do that here, won't work. Guess you figured that out.
Flea bile solar panel 1600 x 700 x 2 mm @ 200 watts , online

Your mum looks very well settle now. Heh Chuck, don’t overthink the solar charging system, lol. 🇦🇺🇦🇺👍👍
What solor panel. 😉
was wondering why you always seem to cut off your wife when's speaking.
Flexible solar panel is best
Yes but small and would need many to achieve the wattage I need.
Only there is 7/11 around the corner Mom Kara won’t need to worry about driving Kiat so far out ! ❤
7/11 @ 2 kilometer
I love driving my Kiat along the ocean.🥰

He does not make 30min videos everyday like this channel. thanks for watching both content.
