  • $4200 Williamsburg Brooklyn 2 bedroom tenement apartment. $1500 rent increase.
Rob, his wife, and his roommate are moving out.
There was no electricity in the couple's bedroom for 18 months, leaks, and an accumulation of garbage.
David Tabak, a Brooklyn landlord, and principal of Watermark Capital and Full Time Management owns this building and dozens of others.
I live in the same building. I am lucky to be in a rent-stabilized unit, I can live without roommates. But the problems never end.
I was reported to Equifax credit agency for owing thousands of dollars for an accounting mistake. My credit score went from 810 to 710. Emails were unanswered, but it got rectified after Equifax did an investigation.
David Tabak on his Watermark Capital Instagram promotes beautiful luxury apartments, but the reality is that he lets old buildings fall apart while raising rents about 25%-33% upon lease renewals.
NYC municipal inspectors routinely register violations, but the fines are minimal.
As a rent-stabilized tenant, my lease should be registered with a city housing agency, but since 2011 there is no public record.
How such landlords are allowed to operate in NYC is beyond me.
Lack of ethics and greed is the driving force, and there is very little oversight.
All the neighbors I knew moved out.
