The greatest a capella band ever, and for a long time in the future!
I believe "Seasons of Love" was recorded live on the rooftop. It was filmed for a Fourth of July television special by PBS, the United States public television network, that certainly would have the technical ability. PBS does an annual "Capital Fourth" special, which used to be broadcast live from the US capital building, usually with a military orchestra and several guest artists. Pentatonix has done the live show before but since Covid most of the artists have filmed a live performance which is shown during the broadcast. Pentatonix stayed pretty close to the original arrangement (which is from the musical "Rent"), including Kirstie's whistle tone riff at the end.
I love Sing, an original of theirs, it was even used for Thursday Night Football, with the Football player’s singing too, Sing is definitely a video worth watching, footage from fans in the video and so upbeat!
I love Pentatonix for their percussion and base. All together they are wonderful BUT those two are backbone that keeps me Listening.
Please check out Scott’s first solo release called Mars. Is stunning.
Wish it had showed Mitch doing defying gravity or their AHA concert. Both are insane.
Isn't Defying Gravity Superfruit and not PTX though? Slightly pedantic but probably why it wasn't included. AHA would have been great though.
Tbh, I'm glad it didn't have it in there, I dislike when these compilations spoil reactors first time properly seeing a song in context. I'm surprised it didn't have it in there though, and Problem too.

"Where Are You Christmas" is also filmed on a rooftop, but there they are definitely lip synching to the studio recording. I love this version of the song, but Pentatonix has around 80 Christmas songs so it's hard to pick. You can't go wrong with any of them, though.
The "Let it Go" at the end was part of an alcohol-fueled set of "Frozen" songs, from Mitch, Scott, and Kirstie. There is an audio track of the studio version of the song, which is much more polished (and presumably alcohol-free) that is worth a listen as well.
As far as Christmas music goes, PTX doesn't have any clunkers, although they do have some songs that have other performances I prefer (Home Drew's take on "Do You Hear What I Hear" is a masterpiece that even the Pentatonix/Whitney Houston version doesn't touch). Sadly, some of their best Christmas songs don't have videos, like "Coventry Carol" or "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year", or their fun original "Good to be Bad".
Agreed. PTX just OWNS Christmas music.

It makes me laugh. Dimash is so popular now but when he competed in 2017 he came in second in the Hunan TV's Singer competition. I wonder what the singer that came in first is doing now.

Dimash is a different style. You can say that you like more mac and cheese than a Benedict egg, but come on! You can't compare!

"It sounds like Avi in the background". You're a Pentaholic, dude! Scott sang in a rock band in high school, so he can do that, too. Check out Pentatonix Born to Be Wild, their cover of Steppenwolf from when they first became a group and competed on The Sing Off, a TV competition show for a cappella groups in 2011. I truly dislike conversations about Dimash when you are supposedly reacting to a Pentatonix video/s. Please don't do this again. It's disrespectful, whether you do it or you allow it from some of your Dimash (or other) fans to change the subject. Remember, this is your channel! Tell the D fans to wait their turn. And it's a turn off.
Susan, I understand your point and I will pay attention in future livestreams to this so we don't lose to much focus from the video I'm reacting to.
I haven't done many livestreams before so it's still a bit trial and error to see how I best arrange this so it's enjoyable for you guys and not all over the place.

Oh I sooo agree with you!! It was really annoying. I almost didn’t finish it. I’ve watched a couple of Dimash videos and it’s not for me. He’s got an amazing voice no doubt but again, not for me.
why did you talk so much about Dimash.....this was suppose to be about pentatonix. I'm gone
I kinda felt that way at first, but in his defense, I think it was a live feed and he was responding to his audience. As far as Dimesh (sp?) goes, I’ve listened to him once (ok, 1 & 1/2 times)…not my cup of tea! I wouldn’t walk across the street to see him, let alone buy a ticket! It is about personal preference and PTX is mine!!!
You are correct, these are the separate reactions from my livestream past Sunday and so, it is also about interaction with the viewers, otherwise I better just not do a livestream at all😛 So I try to keep up with the chat in between. If you want to know the full context of the conversation in between, you can always take a look at the full livestream.
But it's pretty long, so that's why I post those reactions separately.
You might want to post this in livestream, not in the Pentatonix playlist. I’ve never heard Dimash but already find his fans annoying. Makes me less interested in checking him out.

And if you're talking about the Dimash conversation during a ptx reaction, you can blame me for that, not the fans, I decided there to comment on it. Now I realize it's better not to be distracted by that so much.
