i liked this 'cards and book set' , the artwork though cartoony is perfectly fine , there is a lot of information in the book . i will probably not do most of the spells but i know a lot of people who would . 36 cards is about right for prognosticating , same as lenormand , more than a set of runes , and a strange mix of the traditional 4 elements ...and things like 'party lizards' :) quite reasonable for about £16 off ebay . there is only one catch . the cards seem very sticky/difficult to separate . i dunno if they're too matt/shiny , whether it's static , or wears off after a while or with use , or if you need to do some trick like talcum powder them , but it's a bit of a pet peeve of mine . i just like to shuffle and deal cards easily . anyone else got a set of these ? what do you think ?

I would agree on the cardstock. I've had to use them a few times to get them broken in. Although I find smaller decks tend to be like this due to the size. Seems to increase the difficulty of the shuffle overall but it does wear off after use.
My biggest peeve with this one is I really wish the sayings on the side and bottom were a little more thought out for use in a spread. From what I understand you're meant to read all 4 sayings when you draw a card but this tends to add a little too much to the reading / message so I've developed my own way of reading the cards and laying it out in spreads that really only focuses on the phrase that is shown in the uprright position. The problem then becomes the artwork on the back of the cards being both upright and reversed when I shuffle, which I tend to not enjoy when I'm using a deck where you can use reversals. If reversals are intended, the back artwork has to be symmetrical or ambiguous.
I'd love to hear how others are using this deck too!

@@HalfBlindAssassin-i5q Now that I think of it, I actually recall “dusting” these with a little cornstarch or incense ash to make them less sticky. They did eventually break in though.
