This is coded wrongly and its even worse in madden 24. The seam flat defenders are only supposed to go deep if both 1 and 2 go deep. Remember 3match is cover 3’s answer to 4 verts. If 1 goes under and 2 goes deep, the corner should yell something like “under, under!!” signaling the seam flat defender to play his traditional spot drop cover 3 role. In madden 24 its even worse cause the outside corners are basically coded to play man on number 1 as long as they stay outside the numbers. The problem with this is you can easily dumb out the corner by running that whip route or a 5 yard out and they’ll play man on those receivers.
theoretically you only want one slot guy running a slant and you want both receivers on the opposite sides running deep routes, and then your number 3(probably running back out of the back field) to run to the flat that way you can high low and still flood the zone. problem is you need time for that play to work and if they blitz one of the middle linebackers you’re kinda screwed.

Would be interested in seeing how cover 3 match works against Trips TE.
It plays just like C3 Sky. C3 Match won't match vs 3x1 sets.
That makes sense I think buzz seam works
@@lallstar13 buzz seam doesn’t match trips either unfortunately.
@@pihcam1843 I use Cv3 Buzz for trips
@@lionofpersis the defense is good but it doesn’t match vs trips.
Excellent explanation
Bro what play do you recommend for matching tight formations
6:21 what adjustment to make for the right side
So delete all cover 3 sky plays and add cover 3 seam to custom playbook for 2 wides. Check. Thank you sir
I would have both! C3 sky can still be affective in the right situations!
You might need Cover 3 Sky one day, like maybe if you’re getting 4 strong formations
At this point what’s the difference between C3 Match AND simply Cover 1? Leverage?
Cover 1 is going to play man coverage regardless of route combination. Cover 3 Match will only match if certain route combinations are run.
I said the same thing. That's why Nick Saban said cover 1 is the best defense in football.
Yeah but if your DBs have a speed disadvantage matching works better than cover 1 or any man D
@@lonniefooteiii1267 Yeah but wouldn't 4 verts still work in that situation?
Does match work for the deep safeties as well.
In Cover 3, he's just a middle third. In C4 quarters, Palms, C6 and C9, the safeties do have matching principles.
how do you get the cpu to play match coverage. I think it off by default
No sure if you can to be honest.
Use 2 controllers in practice.
Thank u bro
Great video ..well done instant sub
Thanks for the sub!
What playbook is cover three seam in?
Every playbook has a variation of C3 Seam. Most formations have an option for it as well.
Do you want to do this with base align on? And/or auto flip
On?
Sorry for the delayed response but I personally like alignment to default and auto flip on
My Hello’s 🎉🎈
If one or both slot WRs run crossers it might beat that
