I paid in november but only a box, i did invest in 6 hobby boxes of 2020-21 s2 in which i pulled 4 kaprizovs a stutzle plenty of cozens and a poe laffy. I think it cant get much better than that so i didnt throw money at ud this time around
Love the break but just kinda disappointing to see very little value from what’s now an $80-100 product. Crappy rookies, old pictures, non updated cards/rosters, horrific quality control as you showed, and virtually zero big card potential. I’m not seeing the appeal and would rsther put money towards Series 1 than spend a cent on this
I opened a box and got my money back in 1 card (mcdavid ace) got 4 numbered cards, and a bounty card which goes for 25+ rn
I liked these in past years because of the old school/new school from regular/parallel.I really liked the amount of players when it was time for autographs and the cards themselves were great for on card autos!

Pulled the tall boy and regular caufield rookie in my box along with a black and white Ovy and a cosmic preview Elias Pettersson! Was a pretty solid box! Had other rookies and 2 numbers black borders too!

Collecting this set is such a commitment. I did it and the retro parrallel in 2019. I opened COUNTLESS boxes. it was nuts. Im sooooo over the product now. makes me cringe. although, when you do have a retro set in sheets, its quite nice to look at.
Who's in charge of QC at Upper Deck? I can understand some of the cards having slight imperfections due to packaging, handling and shipping issues. But to have a photo of a different player than to one named on the card is ridiculous.
That's not even the first time they've done that...Mackenzie MacEachern's Young Guns card from 2019-20 features a picture of Andreas Borgman. Front and back.

Well I did it, I got one box. And it was probably the best box of the whole case. I pulled a Zegras retro rookie and a tall boy rookie. A Connor McDavid blue. And a trophy winners patch of Daniel Sedin and a OPG platinum preview of Alex Newhook
Got a Bernie Parent "Trophy Winners Vezina," an Ovie Ace card, and a Draisaitl King card in my first box. Also a Drysdale Rookie tall boy. Not a bad start.
At about $60 right now, this is a good safe box to buy for some great hits.

I think I saw a baseball break or a video that had different backings on the player playing cards, and some were harder to come by. It could be something to look into.
OMG Ryan Graves is my fav player (also from my hometown) would love to get any you pull that you don't think you would keep....

I'm note sure, I think your second checklist at 8:37 might be a black and white variation. I don't know if the checklist cards are short prints or not, but it could be a rare card.
Nevermind lol it's not a black and white variation. I took a look at the ones I got, they're normal.
But fun break! I think this is a very fun set.
Ha ha. UD is taking OPC back to the good old days. Centering and error cards to look out for. Now UD just has to bring back those rough edges and it will be just like it was when I was a kid.

The more I see of this, the more I want some but I know the value is just not there. Most likely I will just grab a few packs of this when I go to get my few boxes of series1. Imagine if the player name mismatch cards in the set were the blatant variations, how hilarious that would be.

I haven't figured out if that's an actual screw up by @UpperDeck or if that was intended by them. If I saw a normal Connor then I would say it's an error variation and not just a straight up mistake. I am noticing the odds aren't as tough as the pack would indicate beyond the blue bordered inserts 1:3 packs. Tons of unannounced cards for sure.

Other than variations in the holograms, there were no "error cards" in UD's 1990-91 hockey set.

Get some, lots of parallel cards to pull especially if you're looking for a cheaper zegras rc. I actually pulled a few variations of his and a rc redemption card for pacific division!

Fucking hell(sorry for my foul language) but UD seriously needs a firm kick in the bum. What is this? Is there NONE quality control? How many employees do they have? 1(pretty good) designer, 1(moderate) printer, 1(blind)cutter, 1(shaky) sticker auto dispenser, 1(poor SOB) to send out replacement cards and redemptions? Anyhow, thanks for the break!
