Smart? Yeah... but he feels quite shy, and awkward most of the time... much like how Depp is quiet, and shy in interviews... on film their characters can be... but off screen? Not really... in my opinion..
Downey most definitely is those things... smart? Seems average intelligence to me.

War Machine firing 12 different weapons at the truck that Giant Man was swinging at him was one of my favorite parts! GO WAR MACHINE! PROTOOOOON CANNON!
Don Cheadle is so cool. I love him. The only ones missing were Scarlett Johansson and Chadwick Boseman.

Downey seemed pissed at 18:27... he handled it well.. but you can tell he took it seriously, like the guy asked "How does it feel that no one cares about you anymore, and they want Spiderman? Haha".. he seems stressed, not relaxed like he was... puts shades on... then again at 31:40 Downey took that question in the totally wrong way... you can tell he was stressed again, and being serious... while everyones laughing like he's joking lol...
Handled it well though... love you RDJ.. you'll always be the man... Do Iron Man 4 again and prove it.

+Bat Bapeck The end sequence of Ant-man has the 'crazy stupid fine' guerrilla journalist mentioning that they have 'a guy who crawls up the walls' before Falcon specifies he's looking for someone who shrinks. I took that as a reference to some low-level spiderman sighting/contact in the MCU, and what Russo now says backs this up. The advantage of building up to your ensemble films means there are plenty of places to hide hints.
As for lex knowing about batman and superman's identities, that's not a complaint I've heard much. The common complaints about lex are his departure from previous movie and comic luthors, and his motives in the film being either nonsensical or never explained (depending on how much of what he says is him lying).
