how could anyone dislike this its: super helpful nice voice only video on youtube that's like this he speaks and acts like a teacher like wtf this whole series saved my exams thanks so much I subbed to u and liked because these videos are splendiferous cheers
Thank you for this series, I'm reading Animal Farm for homeschool with my 12 year old Son, your videos works really well for that. Anyone have recommendations for for future reading in this age group?
I can't tell if I'm just mishearing things but it sounds like you're saying the idea that Great Major highlights when we says "Never listen when they tell you that man and the animals have a common interest. That the prosperity of one is the prosperity of others.” Is similar to billionaires not paying their fair share and that it’s in the interest of society that they don’t, is this fair to say? If so, I would personally say that interpretation is backwards. When an individual starts a business his prosperity becomes his employee’s prosperity through the means of receiving a paycheck and continued employment. Meaning there is a common interest shared between business owner (Man) and his employees (Animals) given the proper rules are in place. So when GM says “Never listen when they tell you that man and the animals have a common interest. That the prosperity of one is the prosperity of others.”, he’s saying that this idea in a shared common interest between essentially business owner and employee is false, no? Thus the only way to ensure this balance is to make sure they are taxed “their fair share” for the benefit of society. Because again, there’s “no shared interest” so we must use the governments gun/power to ensure this shared prosperity. Which to me sounds like tax the rich "their fair share" which, at least in the States, is around 80% of the total tax revenue. Let me your thoughts and if I’m misrepresenting what you said, I listen to it a few times but couldn’t tell 100% so apologize if I misheard. Great series so far!
It’s similar to billionaires paying their fair share of tax. Old Major is arguing that a fair society wouldn’t allow people to amass wealth in this way and that it should be distributed evenly.
This whole series is ridiculously helpful :)
