Spot on. There will mostly not be a GPU shortage, so moving older gear out of the way and reinvesting in more efficient hardware will be the workflow.

I agree here Rabid! This is why i have one amd rig on different kawpow algos for a few weeks at a time, an nvidia rig also bouncing between other algos for a few weeks at a time, 2x gpus in gaming rigs staying on ergo, a cpu bouncing around, and a hard drive on spacemesh. I need another cpu rig or two though, and maybe some more hard drives on smh....
I am currently mining Zeph, smh, and pyi. With summer coming I am mainly concerned about heat.
There has been ALREADY several coins which have gone 10x or 20x in spring 2024 compared to late 2023. The volumes are not big though, but some fast guy could have already made nice profits. The lacking volumes, basically order books are not filling from buy orders enough for every seller to profit, but even with more shallow order books those 10x 20x are already clear proof the altseason is building up.

I think that that your philosophy with CPU mining applies to GPUS now too get in early and be ahead of the pack w/ the combo of super fast emissions and lack of CHAIN UTILIZATION. makes it pretty grim for for profit miners. But to have eth like profits. Might be a thing of the past unless 😢

Literally all POW network could easily support huge amount of hashrate, however if we are talking about mining for profits, indeed most of them currently do not have a good price appreciation huge enough to replace ETH profitability before the merge.
Personally i think hardware diversification is not possible for all miners, however building a bag with multiple coins is probably the more easy for the majority but it's always just gambling and risk.

The market is still smaller than 2 years ago - where does this magical money come from ? Consumers are done being suckers. No more free gov $. No 'bull run' coming.
