Afghanistan both islamically and historically has been part of khorasan. Go look at their language, their food, their empires, they are all similar to the other central asian peoples we know today as tajiks, uzbeks, kazakhs. Not to mention, being Defeated by the Mongols. This devastation and rape was only shared by other central asian peoples but only a HANDFUL of south asian peoples because the Muslim Rulers of India protected the Region from the Mongols.
