I totally get you with what you "should" read vs what you want to read. That's why i end up dnf'ing some that i own more often than not. Then i decide if i want to own it to read later or if I'm ok with just getting it from the library.

I like your picks. They are all so different. I am reading mostly Nancy Drew for MGM because I am also doing March Mystery Madness. I try to pick at least one off my shelves too.

The only ones I've read are The Book of Lost Names which I think I really enjoyed (it's been a bit) and Song for a Whale, which we did as a read aloud last year and all loved. I think you'll enjoy it, the main character loves poetry, poetry for the deaf was so interesting to me, her grief process felt very real, her parents felt like real parents who are trying to do their best and I related to them a lot. I didn't always love her choices but what parent loves every choice their kid makes?😉 Anyways, I need a book with more than 2 POV for March.....haven't decided yet. My daughter said The Love Note by Politano but I dunno....

I think I have all of the City Spies series. I hadn’t thought about it, but I might just have to add it to my March TBR. If nothing else, the first, at least. 😊

I've never heard of Letters to/from Malcolm, either. I may have to look at reading that one, since I seem to be looking at all the prayer books this year (or at least a few). I have a few friends who would likely own this one.

❤📚 Love your channel, Chantel. I'm reading The Book Jumper by Mechthild Glaser for two POV.
Buzzword read will be The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid.
My one word middle grade is Savvy by Ingrid Law.
Debut, Manatee Summer by Evan Griffith
Immigration, Front Desk by Kelly Yang
Animal on cover, Circus Mirandus by Cassie Beasley
Missed out, Wonder by R.J. Palacio
These are already on my bookshelves and also need to be read. 🤗

My March TBR keeps growing, and March isn't even here yet 😬 Also, I had no idea it would be so hard to find a book with only 2 POVs 😅 Every time I think I've found one, there's been at least one small moment where we get a third POV, so I'm not sure yet what I'll be reading for that one.
City Spies has been on my radar for a year or two now, so I'll be curious to hear what you think about it!

    • @abundanceintheson_467

March 9th now and I strongly agree!!!! I am having a hard time finding books with only 2 POV!!!! And even a harder time finding ones worth reading... 😢
I have DNFed two that I did find because one was boring and one was too depressing.
I just ordered the one Chantel picked because 1. It sounded interesting (the letters bit) 2. I feel like I am tired of looking and researching on Google to find POV...

    • @psalm19creations
      @psalm19creations 3 місяці тому +1

@abundanceintheson_467 I've DNF'd one this month too. But then I picked up The Extraordinary Deaths of Mrs. Kip and it appears to have 2 POVs, so I'm hoping it ends up working out. My only other option at this point (that I know for sure) is a 500+ page book.

    • @abundanceintheson_467

@@psalm19creations I am glad you found one 💜 So far (20 pages in), "The Lines between Us" is good (and 2 POV). I like that it is a different approach to WW2 as I get tired of WW2 historical fiction so easily as it sometimes seems to be the only historical fiction anyone writes...or it feels that way!!!!

For the multiple points of few I am reading "The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle". I read it last year and LOVED it but I want to read it again to see if I can pick out any clues that I missed the first time. For the two points of few I am reading "The Red Pyramid" by Rick Riordan which is book 1 of The Kane Chronicles. My son recommended this one to me because it was one of his favorites growing up.

I thought the first Shelby Holmes was cute and worth atleast one read (the second one for some reason didn't hite the same).
March 9th here/now -- So, I started with five books on my TBR:
    1. "Dune Messiah" by Frank Herbert
    2. "Midnight at the Blackbird Cafe" by Heather Webber
    3. "Rooted in Wonder " by Eryn Lynum
    4. Poems by Emerson
    5. "Homeschool Bravely" by Jamie Erickson
    I have finished #1, DNFed #2, still reading #3 & #4, and set aside #5
BUT, the big surprise (for me) is that I am doing "Middle grade March". I kind of stumbled into it by reading a Nancy Drew mystery that was actually really good!!! I thought I would be bored but I was not 😮
(It was "The Mystery at Lilac Inn"). My daughter has picked a book (so far) each month for me to read and the Nancy Drew was March's pick...
And now I am mood reading through some Middle grade novels 💜💜💜💜
Do all months have themes on Book-tube? If not, what ones have themes? I know of Vic-tober and I hope to participate this year, too

Yeah, as I recall (and it's been a while), Letters to Malcolm is not very much like Screwtape. It's barely fiction. In fact, I'd just call it non-fiction, I think. I guess you could say the same about Screwtape, but there's at least a veneer of a story there.
