It looks great! Swimsuits intimidate me but I'd love to make one. Maybe someday I'll get up the nerve to try it. I have a completely unrelated question / comment - I LOVE the shirt you are wearing! Did you make it too?
Thank you! I am wearing this 1950's dress that I made in this video: ua-cam.com/video/ruCX9lX5YJo/v-deo.html It is a maternity dress bit still fits me now with a belt ☺️
Hello Catherine. I subscribed to your channel around two years ago and have enjoyed watching many of your videos. However, I find the volume of the sound in this video changes rapidly from your sweet, soft feminine voice to the (lovely) music which is quite loud in comparison: so I spend a lot of time turning the volume alternately up and then down. Is it possible to alter the sound at this late stage? During the 1960s, my mother had a lovely swimsuit made from woven cotton, very flattering and modest, the memory of which stays with me. So I plan to make my own two-piece version. God bless you, husband and your dear family, with kind regards Sue.
Sorry for the confusion! To be honest, I bought the pattern so long ago that I thought it was 1950's at the time when I recorded the video - by the time I was ready to publish the video, I had realized the pattern was actually for a 1940's swim suit. That being said, there is not a massive amount of difference between the two decades.
It looks gorgeous on you, you have done a beautiful job xx
Thank you! ☺️
Lovely suit. The striped fabric and piped details worked so well together.

Very classy you look lovely!🥰💜✌️
It looks very good but very complicated
why use silk in a swim suit. it is my understanding that silk cannot be washed. Am I mistaking?
I had silk scraps on hand, and wanted to use them. I have several silk garments and even pillowcases and washing has not been a problem. ☺️
Is it 1940s or 1950s? The description says one, but you keep saying the other.
