vertical aligned rack toms, so unique. love it. the beauty of personalized drum setups, pretty much almost anything can be placed anywhere you want as long as it works + comfortable for you.
It allows me to keep that left crash cymbal close by for chokes and right hand reaches! And then also allows for the option to go down the higher toms if needed quite comfortably.
@@KinProductions nice to know that. 🫡 Personally I don't have the railing frame drumkit (initially because they are expensive) so I don't know if that's achievable on my drumset without sacrificing too much space. 🤣 I already have a lot of cymbal stands and their extensions all over the place. Though I made my own rack tom stand from a broken cymbal stand (taken from my old first ever drumkit from 2006) combined with clamps because I kinda hate (always feeling uncomfortable with that) the position of standard rack tom that's right on top of the bass drum. 😅 That way I can position the rack toms to be right in front of me, while the bass drum is aligned to be a bit to the right side in the same direction of my right leg + I can place the ride cymbal closer to me by hovering over the bass drum. Like how you position your ride cymbal, but not that close because I also have a cowbell on my bass drum's rim. My current drumkit is the 7-piece TAMA Imperialstar. 2 rack, 2 floor. I also have the Mapex Steel snare as my main snare (tuned high), then I made the tama snare as the auxiliary snare (tuned low).

the beauty of personalized drum setups, pretty much almost anything can be placed anywhere you want as long as it works + comfortable for you.
It allows me to keep that left crash cymbal close by for chokes and right hand reaches! And then also allows for the option to go down the higher toms if needed quite comfortably.
@@KinProductions nice to know that. 🫡 Personally I don't have the railing frame drumkit (initially because they are expensive) so I don't know if that's achievable on my drumset without sacrificing too much space. 🤣 I already have a lot of cymbal stands and their extensions all over the place.
Though I made my own rack tom stand from a broken cymbal stand (taken from my old first ever drumkit from 2006) combined with clamps because I kinda hate (always feeling uncomfortable with that) the position of standard rack tom that's right on top of the bass drum. 😅
That way I can position the rack toms to be right in front of me, while the bass drum is aligned to be a bit to the right side in the same direction of my right leg + I can place the ride cymbal closer to me by hovering over the bass drum. Like how you position your ride cymbal, but not that close because I also have a cowbell on my bass drum's rim.
My current drumkit is the 7-piece TAMA Imperialstar. 2 rack, 2 floor. I also have the Mapex Steel snare as my main snare (tuned high), then I made the tama snare as the auxiliary snare (tuned low).
