This turned out to be the WORST experience from a Yamaha dealership

I had an extremely disappointing experience at T&R Yamaha with my 1989 Yamaha Venture Royale. I took my bike in for a simple tire change, some wiring issues, and battery-related work, expecting professional service from a Yamaha dealership. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a nightmare that lasted seven months and cost me over $500. The most frustrating part of this experience occurred on 05.13.2024, when I went to pick up my bike.Initially, they seemed okay with my request and didn't mind the bike being there for a while as I made payments over the months. However, things went downhill fast. Every time I contacted them or visited to make a payment, they never mentioned any issues with my bike or the storage arrangements.
When I called on a Friday to make a payment and informed them that I hoped to pick up the bike the following week, they seemed fine with it. However, when I showed up on the agreed day after work, they acted annoyed and claimed I didn't give them a heads-up, despite our prior conversation. The most frustrating part was that when they finally brought the bike out, it wasn't charged and still had wiring issues. The tire was still flat. The bike didn't start, and they left me stranded outside their shop with no power and no assistance. I had to leave my bike there overnight, which was unsafe, and arrange for a tow the next day.The tow driver called me the next morning to inform me that the shop staff were not interested in helping him load the bike.
I had to drive over 30 miles from Gaylord to East Jordan and back, causing me to be late for work and incurring additional costs and inconvenience. What's even more disappointing is that T&R Yamaha is the only Yamaha dealership around and the only shop that was willing to even touch my bike. They came highly recommended, which makes this entire experience even more frustrating and disheartening.
For a Yamaha dealership, their service was utterly unacceptable and unprofessional. This experience has made me reconsider ever owning a Yamaha again if this is the kind of support and service I can expect. I strongly advise against taking your bike to T&R Yamaha for any service.
