I read his book just recently and it is so sad how his life got destroyed by drugs and more. Glad he recovered. I loved him as a teenager and I love him now.
This is the only decent interview with Leif I've ever heard. He is an interesting guy, far more intelligent and philosophical than many might take him for.
This is a really good interview and Leif sounds stronger and happier in this stage of his life...I am happy for him and wish him the best. I met Leif and his Mom years ago and they were both so humble and kind and down to earth. Though I am not able to relate to the life he has lived on a professional level, I certainly can relate on a human level and growing up in the same era. I think the connection between the interviewer and Leif allowed this interview to be exceptionally enjoyable! If Leif reads this by chance...Godspeed with many good years ahead!
I agree with Leif... you ARE a fine interviewer and I apprecieated and enjoyed this one as he did. It's interesting to learn a little about the backstory of people like Leif, David Cassidy, and others of that time. I'm a product of that time, too, and I watched it all unfold from afar with awe, admiration, and a longing to somehow experience a life like theirs. With the passing of the years and with learning more about the private lives of celebrities like Leif and so many others, particularly those that start out so young- I realize more each day how grateful I am for my humble, simple, normal life of relative anonymity. Thank you for sharing, Leif... and for entertaining us. Wishing you all the best.

I just loved and enjoyed listening the interview of my one and only teenage idol, LEIF GARRETT !!! WOWWW. How amazing , good and a positive person he is....I admire him a lot when I was younger, as a star because of his look... long curly hair, great eyes and sweet smile, songs and movies ... Now as a grown up.... I even admire him more as a person... He is so honest and recognizes his UPS and DOWNS.... everybody makes mistakes, but learning from that mistake and rising up is a VICYORY !! BRAVO LEIF.!!!....👏👏👏 Much Love ❤

Very nice interview, I was a fan of Leif and felt sad for him on how he was abused and used by the people around him during his younger and heydays. He was such a sweet and nice lad back then that I could only sense. Thank God he's out of addiction and trying get up and do good again. How much Leif loves his mom could only tell he has a good heart. God bless you Leif!

Brilliant interview and stunned how easy going and polite Leif is after everything he's been through. Honestly haven't heard anyone speak so courteously in a long time . Making it my goal in life to be more Leif! Xx
His humbleness is refreshing. I remember long ago judging famous people with problems. After I ended up with my own, I changed my tune pretty quickly. Great interview. You can hear the gratitude in Leif's voice at the end.

Leif, David Cassidy and Bobby Sherman were the biggest teen idols in the history of the world and if they would have had social media back then they wouldn’t have even been able to leave their house, glad he’s still around. Thanks for this Dave, great job.

Gosh I was obsessed with Leif as a teen. Had all the Teen Beat posters plastered in my bedroom. I watched as they tried to mold him into what the BIZ thought would have mass appeal and it sure wasn’t what or who he was and wanted to put out there. I can understand how it could be damaging to a persons life. He’s been thru so much and I’ve always wished he’d have the life he wanted, and true happiness 💗
I 've always loved Leif . He is so kind and down to earth.This is a great interview. And if anyone out here doesn't know his mom wrote a book as well it s called puppets on a string. I don t know it got published or not. Would have to ask Leif . But he is a awesome still listen to him .

Management would not allow him to sing songs he found in Europe because those songs had Copyrights (surely International Copyrights), so they would have had to pay those writers, et.al., to use them. & Then his management was also aware & unhappy that Leif was trying to think for himself. It surely was no accident that his parent was no with him, & he was being given drugs!!! That's control tactics!!!

I remember Leif when he hit the UK in the late-70s then I think he just became a 'whatever happened to....' heard his interview on Jonesy's Jukebox a couple of years ago and he was such a funny guy. Hearing this now, he is actually just a naturally humble guy making the best of his life. Will be looking for his book straight away!
Leif, it breaks my heart knowing how hard it was for you at such a young age. But sometimes we have to hit the bottom before we can appreciate the top!

Man time flys by. Saw him in Jackson Mi small venu late 70's.. 3 neighborhood girls who I'd do anything to hang with myself and one friends mother, who was also in awe of this young man. LOL .. Wasn't a girl in my neighborhood who wasn't head over heels for him. Maybe one of 40 boys or so there and he was unreal.. Honestly, he was like a young Elvis or a Beatle to every young girl there.. and I gotta say it was an incredible atmosphere for a young boy to experience.. Always appreciated him regardless of what was written or said. It's not about that to me.. MEMORIES.. That's what I'm enjoying during this phase of life and that event is truly a fantastic memory... Great interview, what a great guy
I loved this interview and the book! It was so nice to learn about his life in his own words and what he's been through. He seems like such a genuine kind person on top of being creative, intelligent and talented. I wish him success on his next projects and continued good mental and physical health. Super excited if he writes more books and am hoping he might do a book signing tour that brings him up to Canada! Happy to have seen his concert in Toronto in 1979 and thrilled he's doing well now.

She's a lesbian, so it wouldn't have happened. lol I remember him saying in an interview the true love of his life was Nicolette Sheridan. He said he was broken when she dumped him and he never got over it. I'm thinking maybe that's why he never got married? I wonder if he still loves her.
