My husband died of cancer in 2014. He was 48. There are two songs that I listened to that helped me through his passing - they are this song and No Air. Regardless of what this song means to others it is special to me. Every time a hear it, my mind takes me back and my heart aches for his presence. The art of a great song writer.

I'd change the words on the bridge to sound more optimistic and hopeful for me personally, especially for something like a wedding song. But even in the bridge, he comes from real emotion and the skepticism of believing that this happiness he's experiencing could actually last. Definitely real emotions, but I just need that bridge lyrics to be triumphant. Something satisfying to hear someone get that win. But I look over it when I listen to it. But yeah, the song is fantastic. Missed opportunity on a single.

I love this song so much! Fell in love with it during my teens and it still hits the spot today. I wish more songs like these were made today.
This song reminds me of my ex , we were a happy couple but she was from a muslim background and her family forced her into an arranged marriage. We were both 18 & together for 4 years, she wanted to commit suiacide or run away. I stopped her from doing both. We thought about running away but we never had money & nobody would support us. It was soo hard and emotional, 7 years on & I still havent forgot about her because of the impact her leaving me had on my life, i couldn't eat for days & suffered from depression & anxiety for months. I never blamed her at all, it wasn't her fault, she had a very strict father/family that would have never accepted me into her family even tho I am a muslim myself but from another country. She was Asian & im black. Whenever i think about it,... I try to figure out if there was anything i could have done to keep us together but knowing how her family was, if she went missing for a day her family would have called in a swat team to look for her. Anyway i miss her & i have no idea where she is but i've been told by one of her friends that shes got 3 kids. I hope she's happy.
