Great, I lost my entire post. Try again.
2014 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT. One mechanic at a dealership immediately guessed bad oil leak caused by notorious, plastic oil filter housing unit. He said it's a $1K to $1200 repair job. He suggested I go to a non-dealership for a lower price. I haven't had a chance to get a second opinion. How long does it take to change that part? I'm in Georgia. Would be nice if you are, too. Heh. I like to tinker, but I don't know if I have all the necessary tools. And I'm pretty good at small, short repairs on things. I can't see myself getting oil all over my hands. Or possible taking 3 hours to dismantle and reassemble. I'm an old lady, living in vehicle (over 16 yrs), dealing with cancer, blah blah blah. So I'm hoping I can get an exact diagnosis (besides the good guess that I think I got), and find out what a fair price is to pay for the job. Also, the part # you mention above - mopar site said it's the wrong one for my vehicle, but other search results show that exact number for my needs.
I appreciate all helpful information. Thank you.

Hi there, I’m afraid I’m in Canada. So prices vary. I would suggest taking it to a good reputable shop.

I just got quoted $2300 for this repair; Dodge dealership... How ridiculous it that!

Thank you! Doesn't look like you had much of a fuel mess when you took the fuel supply hose off the lower manifold. How did you do that?

Which brand of housing did you get? Currently searching. Seen several on Amazon that seem good. Local auto parts is about $300.

There’s no such thing as ‘a nice reliable vehicle’ when it comes to Ford/Chevy/Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep mate.
Just had to get my transmission rebuilt for the second time recently, this time the flex plate had cracked which never happened to any Toyota or Honda I’ve owned (that’s over 25 yrs and about a dozen vehicles). Never did I have to replace oil housing or the rockers and camshafts! So I’m sorry, I am biased.
