Probably one of the most beautiful songs done by these two. It’s about Colleen’s grandfather when she saw him wasting away into his death. Joel did such a justice to this song it’s like a journey through emotions of losing a loved one. Absolutely perfect!

49 years old. Been an edm-head since Kraftwerk in high school in the 80’s while everyone else was listening to 80’s rock (hipster cred?). Discovered the mau5 when “Clockwork” dropped and was like “what is THIS?!?!” He’s been blowing my mind ever since.
This comment is pretty old but in case you see it, or for anyone else, Joel has worked with Colleen previously on another really spectacular track, Seeya, off the while(1>2) album

7:49 when Colleen goes absolutely the fuck OFF on the vocals. She's ridiculously talented.
Somewhere on UA-cam I first heard this and loved it, but was slightly turned off by a commenter who mentioned the lyrics were about stalking an ex-lover. The lyrics don't fit perfectly with that point of view, but I accepted that and moved on: it's still a great track. This was a month ago, or so.
I just read Colleen's explanation about her collaboration with deadmau5 and where this song came from, I like that sort of thing, and in it she wrote that the lyrics were written for and about her dying father. Sad that I got the lyrics so wrong in the first place, happy that it's such a beautiful piece of music with all the love in the world contained within it.

Exactly. I kept listening to the 13-minute version for months, and then these two versions came out. This one is okay, but the radio version seems like it's for all the people who can't wait for the fast parts and can't appreciate a mellow tune.
+Derpancakes It's actually for radios, thus called a radio edit, and the reason why it's so short is because they can't play the original because it costs more or whatever. BTW sorry for my English, I'm Czech.

Its Heartbreaking every time I hear her sing...but also comforting to know I'm not, nor was I ever, alone with those same feelings storming and raging through me. Actually realizing everyone, eventually, knows grief like this in some way made it a little easier...less personal. Thank you Christina.
