Georgetown Cupcakes are great. Theyinspired a "cupcake tour " that my kids and I did. We traveled to different cupcake places every month for a year. So much fun!
Georgetown Cupcakes is delish! My family used to get a dozen of them every month through Groupon, and we got to try so many creative and seasonal ones that way!

Hi! This is Holly. Growing up in the early 80's as a teen, there was a place in town that had frosted donut Birthday cakes. I don't know that I loved them, but it was a fad back then.

I remember when Georgetown cupcakes were all the rage but never had one. I definitely agree about Sprinkles! I'll be going to Disney for the first time in 12 years and I'm very curious about what my first reaction to Gideon's will be haha.
Georgetown Cupcakes are ok in my opinion. If you are DC, try Baked and Wired which is also in Georgetown. They are delicious and huge. I do like the salted oatmeal corn flake cookie at Sprinkles.

If you are ever up in Enterprise, Alabama (south Alabama), stop in Downtown Donuts on Main Street. They have a chocolate peanut butter donut that is to die for.
I live in LA, and Sprinkles is so overrated! I agree with you - they tend to be dry. Love your videos!

I agree with you! Nothing beats Georgetown cupcakes. I was fortunate enough to meet Katherine and Sophie years ago at their Georgetown location. It was around the time their show was still airing.
My favorite desserts in Disney Springs are also Gideons Banana Chocolate Chip, and I just tried their Dark Coffee Cake cookie, and it's amazing.
I also love Joffrey's Coffee and Tea company. They have a really good Honey Vanilla Tea Latte along with some good pastries.

I waited in a line for 2 hours for Gideon's to open. When I got there, there were about 30 people in front of me (they didn't open for an hour and a half) and I almost began questioning if it was worth spending the day before my birthday in that line.
Then I got inside, got a slice of cake and cookie, and my wife got a peanut butter cold brew and uh, I'd wait at Gideon's for 6 hours no question now
I love that description - " Earthy. I feel like I'm eating dirt." "A dirt flavored ice cream with chunks of corn." LOL You know what would be fun? Do a blind taste test. I think that would be a fun video. Do it with Paging Mr. Morrow and eat Disney items and see if you guys can guess it without seeing it.

Salt & straw... A place where we can taste as much as we want before making our choice. At least when I went there. We should take advantage of it, and the employees are exceptional about it, and finish with a choice that we will appreciate... I personally loved the olive oil ice cream...

Gideons is so much better than all the other choices are Disney Springs. The very best was the Eternal Flame cookie!
Loved George Town. Got them several times a year. Really went downhill the last couple of years. Don't get anymore.
I tried sprinkles and thought it was good
So I’m a vegan Bakerand I re-create this all the time and people always tell me they taste just like these cookies and the reason why is because when you’re a cookie baker you’re kind of a scientist as well. because you’re trying to figure out how they make a cookie so good. I know the secret ingredient and what they’re doing to the cookies to give them that chewing on the inside and just like crispy crunchy crumble on the outside as they’re basically making a crumble topping like you would if you were going to do like an apple pie with the big crumble on top and they’re doing the same thing for their cookies. Not only that but when they’re making their cookie batter they’re using a method called brown butter so they’re browning the butter and when you do that and you use full on brown sugar on top of browning the butter and a little sea salt at the end that’s how you’re ending up with these cookies that’s why they don’t taste like traditional cookies and the kicker is is that you can easily make it vegan by just using vegan Butter and it taste just like the other butter there’s really no difference you couldn’t tell the difference if you did like a taste test but anyways that’s the secret.they use brown sugar for the entire recipe and brown the butter which gives it that deep kind of rich chewy taste to it.
I have never browned my butter, but I hear it really makes your cookies so good. I make a copy cat Gideons recipe myself and they are a hit everywhere I bring them.

Georgetown Cupcakes is so good. Same reason I’m not a fan of Sprinkles (they opened a store just a few blocks down from the new and original G’town Cupcakes stores. Also…did u know that Georgetown Cupcakes ships?

I just had the buffalo chicken chips in September. And honestly I couldn't even tell it was blue cheese. And I don't like blue cheese either.

I am right there with you. Sprinkles is just disappointing! I love cupcakes but I think you can get better at Walmart. Almost everyone has access to a "local" shop that takes more pride in their desserts.
I’m from Oregon , about 5 miles from Salt and Straw. I’m with you, some of those flavors just don’t taste appealing at all!

Awesome! Yeah I played basketball & softball growing up. I played AAU for the NJ Rising Stars & we would play in nationals in DC, a few tournaments at Spooky Nook & more. I played my first year of college as well.

Hot take: the cakes from Gideon didn't live up to the hype for me. I've tried the cookies & cream and red velvet. The frosting is almost sickly sweet (and I've got a sweet tooth), and the cake is somehow super fluffy but not moist. I'd rather get a piece of that massive chocolate cake from Boathouse. Agreed on the banana bread cookie though!! I also am not a big fan of bananas but love it! The coffee cake cookie is divine, too
