USAF SSgt Johnnie Yellock Shares His Story

Retired U.S. Air Force Staff Sergeant Johnnie O. Yellock II, who earned the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, and Combat Action Medal, shared his powerful testimony during our Veterans Day service on November 12, 2017.

These USAF combat controllers go right up to the enemy's doorstep. My six years in the AF were spent in a rare window of peacetime. We were busy examining our navel post-Vietnam reviewing what had gone wrong. My combat training as a USAF SP/MP was as an AF base defender and I salute SSgt Yellock II for surviving the gauntlet.

This man, Johnnie Yellock II, is my neighbor, and he comes to my school for Veterans programs. :)
