- In this Physics video lecture in Hindi for class 12 we explained the working of simple microscope and derived the formula for angular magnification by a simple microscope for two cases, first, when image is formed at the least distance of distinct vision and, second, when image is formed at infinity.
For this we need to know two things, one, what is angular magnification and, two, what is the least distance of distinct vision.
During the derivation of the formula for angular magnification by a simple microscope we used the thin lens formula.
Construction and working of a simple microscope can be understood if we draw proper diagram.
Simple microscope’s angular magnification formula is 1 + D/f, when image is at D which is the least distance for distinct vision and it is D/f, when image is formed at infinity.

for finding beta why we use the small triangle. beta is angle formed by image. larger triangle.

Beta is angle made by image. Why dont we use tan b = hi / D ?
Why height of object is used ?
We're trying to find out the "Magnification", we don't know by how much the image gets bigger. Since Magnification is the ratio of the angles, which is similar to ratio of size, so tan(thetha) can be taken as object height by D, cuz we know the object height.
sir beta angle final image jo angle banata hai ow hota hai jo height of final /by its distance hota hai i.e D lekin app nai hieght of obect divide by oject distance lekin lekin beta tu final image jo angle banata hia not under stand here
