In India we have one of our forgotten freedom fighter called Joseph Kaka Baptista, he studied in Ireland and came back to India to introduce the home rule moment along with his companion Lokmanya Tilak .... but sadly it's just a forgotten history which was never taught
Back in 1921 when Ireland was starting the long fight for freedom from British rule Churchill predicted that Ireland would be used as a example to other subject nations on how it could be possible to break the chains of British Oppression. He feared that success in Irelands case would lead to copycat movements elsewhere. In this sense he was right. In his lifetime many former colonies of the British Empire shook off the shackles of Imperial oppression. It is poetic that Ireland was the first nation to be colonised and subjugated to English rule in 1169 and was the first to face up to the British Empire and get them out, at least partially from our island. Many historical theorists have the opinion that methods later employed by the English and English speaking expansionists in America and elsewhere first learned their methods in the various plantations in Ireland, most successfully in Ulster. Planters from Ulster were in the vanguard of expanding the American Frontier westward, at great cost to the first nations and native Americans.
What the English did to Ireland should be remembered as colonization and genocide. I am a Polander, and we, Poles, painfully remember the Partitions of our beloved Crowned Republic by three hostile absolutistic empires. 123 years without own statehood, but despite all the fights, persecutions, restrictions on rights, depolonization, economic backwardness and obnoxious anti-Polish propaganda from Germany and Russia (which, unfortunatelly, is still alive in the world) it was an unequal but victorious struggle of Poles, whose culture and resistance flourished despite all persecutions - and I must admit that it was not very difficult struggle compared to the fate of Irish whom the English had plagued for 800! years. As far as I know, the fate of Greece under the Turkish yoke was unenviable too...
This will happen very soon, hopefully peacefully inside the next 5 years We hope and pray that the people of Ukraine and all other invaded lands and people also receive their freedom forevermore

Even tho im not irish these irish songs just hit different
I love that IRA songs include specific instances of their members getting killed. Sometimes even their ages and names. It’s like: “Yeah, we know exactly what you did and we’re gonna kill five times as many of you for it.”
Imagine: A disney historical movie focusing on the rebellion, and they play this as a montage of rebels doing stuff like bombing places
this is such an underrated comment
bombings in response to burnings, executions, shootings at mass events in which kids died and the degrading of local women simply for existing. don't get your IRAs mixed up.
usually disney does ficton
In India we have one of our forgotten freedom fighter called Joseph Kaka Baptista, he studied in Ireland and came back to India to introduce the home rule moment along with his companion Lokmanya Tilak .... but sadly it's just a forgotten history which was never taught
Lot of real freedom fighters and their sacrifices have been buried.

The singing is calm yet the lyric is very aggressive. I like it
for some reason i have a good hunk of the lyrics memorized and im listening to this for the first time ever
Makes me feel patriotic for Ireland.
as a Brit.
Go on home bro
We can all respect the Rebs
You are from England.
If you are then stay away from this Catholic shit.
Ironic
And yet Ireland is doing nothing to help defend Ukraine military, but the British are.
"Actually no, I don't have a home, I only joined the British Army because I need money"
the most irish sentence in this song 1:48
Now it's time for Irish people to rise up and show everyone their strength and gain independence!
This will happen very soon, hopefully peacefully inside the next 5 years We hope and pray that the people of Ukraine and all other invaded lands and people also receive their freedom forevermore

Many Irish men joined the Brit’s against Hitler. They died fighting for freedom from the tyrant.
My family taught me never to hate the Brit’s but the acts of some evil souls. May we all be so
Hate the British institutions and elites, not the people

@@treeismyusernamewhyjustwhy No. I have nothing against brits today. My family had people who supported the brits and also those who fought against the brits. I have stories from both sides. I disagree that all brits were bad. Some of them were good friends of my great grandfather. They had a close friendship during the second world war. He had his business in Bombay. Present day Mumbai. His brother fought against the brits. Infact some brits supported Indian freedom struggle. So i ain't generalising all brits and hating on them. Good and Bad people exist everywhere. but politically i sure was against Brits before 1947. Its all fine now. Today, I love reading about Anglo-Saxon and Celtic Culture.
My great great great great grandfather on my dads side fought in the revolutionary war, and was from Ireland. He wanted to crush the British empire no matter what, and his dream was quite a success now.

Go on home Russian soldiers, go on home!
have you got no fucking home of your own,
for 4 months we have fought you without fear,
and we will fight you 400 more.
And if you stay Russian soldiers, if you stay,
you will never beat the UDF(Ukrainian Defence Forces).
Those many people you have killed, is the last ones you will bury,
so roll up your tanks, and leave us while you may.
Have you got no fucking homes of your own? - And if you Stay Russian Soldiers if you Stay, you never ever beaten the UKRA (Ukraine), so, take a tip and leave (us) them while you may! :D
