"Fuck yeah I've always been anxious, because I've always been in debt, and when I was 18 2 planes flew into a fucking building" These fucking lyrics man. The voice of a generation.
I was 15, but yup. No joke, I was sitting in US History class when the kind of kid no one was sure we could believe strolls in late & announces "they're bombing the Pentagon" like he wanted to see what would happen if he kicked an anthill. One helluva day. Watched the towers fall live on a tv on the library with a crowd of random students & teachers. But America's gonna America. I still vividly remember the phony tv reporter in his phoney voice throwing it back to the studio like he was fucking clever; saying something like: "...and on this day of national emergency, how poignant, that the date? 9-1-1."
Everyone always looked at MCR as the king of emo I love their music but seriously I don't think anyone could get as emo as these guys senses fail have always and will always be my number 1
This is why this is my favorite band, I kinda miss old pop punk shit, and this song is accurate as fuck. I literally love every song they've ever made and its always relatable to my experiences, and still goin strong
I just want to point to everyone that I'm the guy in the Red & Blue Flannel, lol. And more importantly, What a song and Lyrics! Thank you for the music Buddy Nielsen! What a great time I had at the video shooting with all the amazing people involved in it.
I don’t get why people don’t like this song, I keep seeing comments saying it’s not as deep or as good as their old stuff, but it’s not supposed to be deep. It’s a politically charged song and isn’t supposed to be deep, it’s supposed to be meaningful and hard hitting. An eye opener if you will. Just like bands like TSOL, Black flag and suicidal tendencies did back in the 80s. Just be glad these guys haven’t sold out to the mainstream pop and electronic sound and still have kept the post hardcore roots we saw 10 years ago. This is why senses fail is just always gonna be such a great band
"Fuck yeah, I've always been anxious because I've always been in debt and when I was 18 two planes flew into a fucking Building" This one part in the song hits me really hard. I remember exactly where I was when it happened, I was in bed and my fiance at the time woke me up And said you need to come in here and see this and the news was just breaking live and then the 2nd plane hit. I clearly remember having panic attacks and dreams and every time there was a loud noise I thought for sure they were bombs dropping and I wasn't the only one we were all on eggshells.I think it gave a wave of PTSD to all people transitioning into Adulthood creating so many people who have "unexplained anxiety disorders, because we didn't have it before" especially when few years before 9/11 happened So many of my friends had enlisted in to the military not thinking that a war was even on the brink and the same friends that went in 1st infantry are either Still in the military and fighting the same war or have retired from the military now Or lost their lives. It was Really a lot of stress not knowing what we're going to do next I remember sitting around with my ex fiance and some of our friends watching the news and waiting for Bush to officially declare war. I know everybody has their story and where they were and how it affected them But looking back it was terrifying And I remember being in that bubble of just bein scared every day for so long. I actually quite like this song
This is such a great surprise! I've literally loved every transition that Senses Fail and Buddy have followed through the years. This is just as amazing as any other time! :D
You guys haven't written an album I haven't been excited for or loved. I actually bought the last copy in the Best Buy near me last night! Love you guys, your fans, and this comment section
''You know I need life insurance, but I can barely pay my rent. I’m a millennial son of a bitch. I’d rather die poor than give in. I’m not lazy I just don’t give a shit about material things.'' i relate so much to this. ''We destroyed the environment. Fuck the government, it’s an embarrassment we’re all going die in debt.'' also this is just so true.
So great to see them go back to their musical roots after the last couple, more metal (though not a bad thing) albums. Also proves that an 'emo' band can mature musically and positively without totally changing their sound. *Coughs* FOB *Cough*
Well the nice thing of *Cough* them so called music leak sites, you can get any disc haha.. but, yeah I collected all those cds man.. I'd like to go and find some of them old releases that never came out to the public.. The Benjamins is one I believe. Cousin Oliver. ect.. i'm sure theres a wiki of releases DTR did

I have already listed to this album about 25 times already and i genuinely love each and every song . i was introduced to senses fail in college , with Calling All Cars as the first track i had ever heard from them and i have been following them ever since. love Buddy Neilsen and anyone who plays in the band now considering he is the last of the originals . keep making awesome music .
senses fail has come far. this is religious; conservative, yet politically liberal. very patriotic. the words were spoken well and in the perfect balance.the message/point got across well and im so happy to see Senses still making music and evolving with the times and the band members own experiences, personalities, ages, and views. keep up the good work senses fail. i was with you from the start and ill be here til the end.
I feel like they put "pains" instead of "panes" on purpose, as in boarding up your actual pain. When I was in high school I made a poem with all lowecase "i"'s for a reason, as in me not thinking "i" was important enough as a person for it to be capitalized. I received points off until I explained it to them and then my teacher fixed the grade, giving me a 100% and talked to me about how creative it was. So maybe the "window pain" is supposed to be there, as a double meaning? Ya never know. Anyway, great job guys, glad to hear you still making music ♡
P Sh They changed the lyric to "windowpanes" so I guess it wasn't a metaphor for pains/pane, but that would have been cool. Either way, this is still a great song, and I am glad that they are continuing on with making music ♡
no it's pretty clear what he's trying to say. It's rather about exile, people lock their doors and just hide from society because they don't accept them for who they are, i relate to this and understand it really well. It can be related to the LGBT community too, even in the video you can see it.
Wow. I had to stop listening to most Senses Fail music because my depression was really bad, and it wasn't helping. I missed them, they were my favourite band. But this is different. Still depressing, but it's also true about the world. I love it. Thank you Senses Fail for continuing to be amazing!
Please come back to san Antonio with silverstein. I missed the last show due to being hospitalized. For a week. Your my two fav bands and I will die happy even if it kills me to see you both play on the same stage.
"I'd rather die poor than give in." Damn that line hits me. You really do have to give in to society. Oh you paid off all your credit cards? That's actually a BAD thing. The system is designed to keep you in debt!
What? No..pay off your credit cards. That’s just what you do. But you use your card again, and pay it off, then use again, pay off and continue the cycle. If you go in debt, that’s on you. You have to be responsible for your financial status.
I fucking love this. Each of SF's records are unique and represent different states of mind. This is a callback to early/mid 2000 warped tour tunes that we all listened to and recognized with back then...however now the subject matter is for those kids that grew up into the shit storm that is our present. If you don't like it, that's cool, but if you do it's because you get it.
Anyone that’s disappointed about Senses Fail going back to their old sound, don’t be. I’ve been watching buddy’s stories on IG and a lot of snippets he previewed will please the new hardcore fans & the old pop punk fans. It’ll be a good blend.
Glad they're back to their roots! This song is the perfect anthem for my generation, the one who grew up listening to Senses Fail and didn't give a shit if people called us "emo" for it.
Both lines are perfect for this song but i honestly feel saying debt twice like he does seems repetitive and honestly makes the whole thing feel formulated through the solo and the bridge still a relatable good song
Gold jacket, green jacket comes from a line in Happy Gilmore. Happy says those words followed by "who gives a s***." I think that was the intended title for the song
Theses guys have aged like a fine wine. One of the only early 00s bands still killing it and speaking truth
The band is awesome, but this song certainly didnt age well....
"Fuck yeah I've always been anxious, because I've always been in debt, and when I was 18 2 planes flew into a fucking building" These fucking lyrics man. The voice of a generation.
Funny thing he was actually 17 in 2001 on 9/11. Turned 18 february the next year.
"When I was 18 2 planes" Blink 182 confirmed
I was 15, but yup. No joke, I was sitting in US History class when the kind of kid no one was sure we could believe strolls in late & announces "they're bombing the Pentagon" like he wanted to see what would happen if he kicked an anthill.

I was 5, but still so relatable.
@@BOOGiNS same here, Buddy's birthday is 5 days before mine. 02/18/1984 is his !!
It is among us. Emo revival is in motion
Everyone always looked at MCR as the king of emo I love their music but seriously I don't think anyone could get as emo as these guys senses fail have always and will always be my number 1
Been listing since 2002 and never been disappointed. Senses Fail will forever be the only band who speaks to my generation with genuine lyrics.
Highly Recommend the band Silverstein
Completely agree with Silverstein...and Ice Nine Kills (without the agenda)
Senses Fail, Underoath, Silverstein, and AlexisonFire are such great bands!
Senses Fail, Silverstein, Underoath.. takes me back to middle school. This music is still my favorite. Let's not forget Taking Back Sunday 👏🏼
Chae Fender 👍❤️
This is why this is my favorite band, I kinda miss old pop punk shit, and this song is accurate as fuck. I literally love every song they've ever made and its always relatable to my experiences, and still goin strong
This song becomes more and more relevant for me as time goes on
I just want to point to everyone that I'm the guy in the Red & Blue Flannel, lol. And more importantly, What a song and Lyrics! Thank you for the music Buddy Nielsen! What a great time I had at the video shooting with all the amazing people involved in it.
Was this made in the sfv?
Found you
I've given this song 75+ listens within the past 2 days. This may be my favorite SF song. This song is IMPORTANT.
My neighbors liked this song so much they threw a rock through my window to hear it better
This comment deserves more likes.
That was me, now I found the song so I can listen on my own.
Sorry about the window
HAHAHAHA!!! Quit throwing me through windows man. Don't be nice to the enemy while they are firing me at a planet.
AJDJJSJQJQJAKAKKAKAJAJAJJAJAJA

Make America emo again
Nick Fralic 😂
2003 all over again 😃
Make Russia emo again. Bring us our 2007 back!
Make world emo again
Nick Fralic I have a hat that says that. Lol
They never fail to disappoint , most underrated band of all time, Fucking incredible
100 % agreed......
Kassie Cairns was a bit impulsive, I fell in love with this song as soon as it dropped and have always loved them 😂
They never fail to disappoint? Are you complimenting them or disparaging them? Lol
@@rogerhoke9725 yeah, that was confusing haha
Any song that ends with "you fucking idiots" is a winner in my book.

I believe that Happy Gilmore accomplished the feat of writing this song no more than an hour before this one came out.
Love you lmao
All these newer ones have really been hitting me and like buddy always did with past albums, helped me through some rough times
