The TRAGIC Killing Of Anne Frank's Family

  • During the Second World War, the concentration camps were used by the Nazis to inflict huge suffering and murder. Millions were killed in camps such as Bergen-Belsen and Auschwitz, and one of the most tragic stories saw a young Dutch girl succumb to the conditions of the camps alongside her sister and mother. Anne Frank's story is incredibly sad, and her diary which was published tells the story of a girl with such hope who was forced to live inside of a Secret Annex in Amsterdam. Anne Frank herself died inside of Bergen-Belsen concentration camp, but there were 3 other members of the Frank family.
    The only member of the Frank family to survive was Otto Frank, Anne's father. He was held inside of Auschwitz and worked in different roles at the camp, and he was taken ill in the final days of the camp before it was liberated by the Red Army. After recovering, he tried to find out what happened to his daughters and wife. His wife Edith had died inside of Auschwitz Birkenau after contracting disease and illness, but his two daughter's Margot and Anne had been sent to Bergen-Belsen. Bergen-Belsen was a horrific camp where there was death around every corner, and when the British liberated the camp the found 10,000 unburied bodies. Disease was rife, and it was at Belsen that Margot Frank and Anne Frank both died from typhus, a deadly disease that ran rampant through the camp.

    • @Nitebreed
      @Nitebreed 2 роки тому

      How bad is it that a child knows that people want to kill you just because of a religeon you were born into, to be hated for something you have no say into, just because your god is slightly different than your killers! How cruel- how sad and how could they kill men, women and children for no good reason! Gemany and Japan have a lot to answer for- BUT, you cant blame anyone now, todays ppl didn't do anything, they are not their forefathers, like the Irish still blame the English for a bad time over 200/300 yrs ago! Like afro americans still blaming every white person for slavery- nobody alive did any of that, and how many years do you have to apologise for what ppl yrs ago did? Why not blame all snakes for adam and eves eviction from the garden of eden! Its the same bullshit reason- religeon causes more trouble than peace in the world- it should all be banned!!

    Miep Gies wrote Anne Frank Remembered, the story of the woman who …. Along with her husband Jan, Miep brought food, comfort and information everyday to the Frank family hiding in the annex. Her story tells of the courage of Otto Frank. Miep was the woman who after the people in hiding were taken out, she took Anne’s diary and all her scattered papers and kept them until the end of the war. She was hoping to give them back to Anne but sadly could not. She gave them to Otto Frank and encouraged him to get them published. Miep Gies and her husband were two extraordinary people.

    INSTEAD of having all these Extremely Stupid "Holidays," and "Virtual Signaling times of recognition," In America....What we REALLY Need is to NEVER, EVER, Let this Story be Forgotten in Time!! What we Should Really Do Immediately is have a National Holiday, "Anne Franks Remembrance Day." By the way, I am not Jewish, but do respect their peaceful way of Life. Plus, the narrator presented a few new facts I didn't know existed sbout Otto and Edith Frank's time in the camp. Suggestion: Do a follow up video on the other members of the annex. Their stories should be told and not forgotten. Overall, job well done.

    Her story, and that of her entire family, never ceases to upset me very deeply. Possibly even more upsetting, and simply revolting, have been the decades of so-called ‘ revisionist ‘ activists ( ie. Nazis ) to denigrate her name, and, simultaneously, insist that the Shoah is a ‘ pack of lies ‘.

      You are right, Matthew. It is upsetting and tragic that Anne Frank and most of the rest of her family died in concentration camps. You also have good reason to be upset and angry about denial of the Holocaust, just as I am angry that some people would obtusely deny that it ever happened. This sort of denial is not only brazenly false but it also insults the memory of those who perished in the Nazi concentration camps.

    Anne frank was sickly also as a Young child and teenager so her health problems she already had plus the lack of food and water and all the diseases going around the camp and the unsanitary conditions of the camp made it extremely hard for any human to survive especially someone who already had a history of poor health and also Anne was not used to going through and putting her body through the extremely hard conditions she went through in the camp the ones who survived were mainly the ones who were poor and struggling before the war so because the ones who were already poor and struggling before the war were used to putting their bodies through tough conditions that the frank family were not used to

    I don't understand why these death camps even had infirmaries? They just tortured these people.. beat and starved them. The solution was food and proper treatment! What did the infirmary do for these people? Absolutely nothing! How to you intentionally torture people then offer so called medical help?

    • @von-Adler

    I’m starting to wonder if someone was watching 263 prinsengracht and someone noticed one or all the helpers going in early or going back in and eventually realized that they were helping people so that may have been the cause of the Nazi’s learning of where they were.

      Herman Van Pels was sent to the gas chambers in Auschwitz after hurting his finger while doing hard labor. His wife Auguste was in Bergen-Belsen at the same time as the Frank sisters were, but was then sent to Buchenwald then Theresienstadt. She died just after arriving. Their son Peter was sent on a Death March from Auschwitz to Mauthausen and died 3 days before the camp was liberated. Fritz Pfeffer was sent to the Neungamme concentration camp and died of starvation.
