I love this video so much 😭🎉 I started the new year by creating a “playroom” for myself. It has library books, coloring books, board games, paint, vinyls, nails polish, my switch, and I just got a Lego flower set. 📚 🎨 👾 I’m literally so proud of myself for being a 29 year old with a playroom 😂😂 Cheers to a cozy year!
I love how these are actually hobbies that you do FOR yourself and your own enjoyment. I feel like hobbies nowadays often have to "pay up", e.g. if you don't have an Etsy shop or turning your hobby into a productive thing, you're doing it wrong. When it's so important to have activities that you enjoy just for the sake of doing them. So thank you for these fun tips! :)
I love this video and idea 🥹💕 I would also recommend: 1. Doing stuff with beads. Weather it's those that can be ironed after completing the pattern or those that you pull on a little wire to create stuff. 2. Puzzles. Simple, classic ☺️ 3. Making preserves - jams, pickles, etc 4. Collecting things - leaves, flowers, cool rocks, shells. Something to connect you to nature. 5. Learning useful stuff - how to sew on a button, how to bake bread, how to make basic repairs around the house. Have fun y'all 💖
I love picking up beginner kits from craft stores. Gives me the joy of learning something new without having to buy a ton of new items. The kid's versions are always nice because they tend to be a little simpler which lowers the stress level and really hits that cozy feel.
If you're getting back into books attention wise, and you also go off on a train of thought listening to audiobooks - try both together! Follow along, it helped me a lot. After half a book I was back into reading independently and having the attention for it.
I'm native american and decided I was going to bead a wildcat medallion in a watercolor style for fun. I listened to your video while I was working and it made me so happy! I love all of your ideas. And you're so right. Regardless of how this translates from my mind to beads, it's so relaxing to focus on the ritual of beading and so rewarding to see it come to life. I hope you make more of these videos encouraging people to focus and relax!
Puzzles are really relaxing to me. It’s also great to bring people together. I will typically start a puzzle myself, but after an hour or two it becomes a relaxing family activity.
Sometimes deep cleaning or organizing my home while listening to wholesome audiobooks is cozy for me. Other times, watching bullet journal videos on UA-cam while sipping a cup of warm tea. Also, almost anything that is on the PickUpLimes channel, just cozy as is. I also love the act of lighting scented candles with a match (that sound can't be replced by anything, soooo cozy to me) and watch them, sipping a cup of cinnamon tea and listening to lofi music. I have 3 cats, it is very cozy to pet them, kiss them, listening them purr and I especially love it when one of them curls up in my arms and falls asleep 🥰🥰 After cleaning our home, I usually turn on dim lights and listen to chill music and just walk around barefoot, that's also a cozy feeling. Whenever I take all my clothes out and say goodby to the ones I haven't ised for so long and I know I never will, and only put the ones back that I am actively using, I feel so cozy and wholesome and free, and fresh. These are my cozy things 😊
I enjoy writing too. I write fanfiction. You’re borrowing characters and putting them in your own universe. But the beauty is you can publish on several different sites. Before, they were stories I wrote, but never saw the light of day.
A really cozy game (that Ik) is toca (it’s practically only good if you buy the packs tho) buts it’s really worth it you get to create cozy little houses and make little movies 🥹
WOODLE TREE ADVENTURES 2 🍂🍂on the switch is my go to cosy game. Love colouring, Kawaii Doodles Embroidery whilst watching TV & just recently I brought this amazing activity book from TYPO/COTTON ON with a frog on the front of it it's so calming! 👌😊👍 Also LIGHTS OUT on Spotify is super calming whilst crafting or cleaning.
I used to love writing as a kid and I really thought I would be a writer someday. Didn't pan out and I haven't tried writing anything (besides some journaling) in probably a decade. But your enthusiasm in this video made me go write for 20 minutes and wow it was a blast. Wrote a cute little romcom moment based on a recent experience I had, so much fun! Thank you so so much for that bit of encouragement! ❤
Magazines are great. My favorite is Bella Grace. But I also collect them for collage. Scissors, magazines, glue stick. That’s all you need. I use junk mail as my bases to glue them to. I even use booklet junk mail as bases for Zines. All of my colleagues and friends know I will take any magazine they want to give me.
Yes!! 👏👏👏 I have such an appreciation for physical books, magazines, newspapers etc. A lot of people think it’s old-fashioned but there’s just something about it! It’s so much better than reading on a screen
I love skateboarding and every time I get my Thrasher magazine in the mail it’s the highlight of my day. Flipping through it makes me fall in love with skate culture all over again ❤️
This was a great list! I already love and do most of these! I will some of my other favorite (though admittedly more expensive hobbies) are drawing, bullet journaling, scrapbooking, card making, learning languages, tarot reading and creating miniatures. I think hobbies are so so important and I think everyone should have at least a few hobbies to feel creatively and emotionally fulfilled. Happy Hobbying! 💗
As a lifelong writer I LOVEEEEEE that you included creative writing in this!! It’s even more fun when you do it just for yourself. I love making Spotify playlists for stories to fit the vibe and get inspiration (another cozy activity). I also love that you included magazines in this! I miss them so much too! Getting my monthly seventeen magazine in the mail and also buying tiger beat in middle school were staples of life for me! I really want to try one of those cute little building sets 😍
I grew up with a mom who had a "craft room" and it was the best thing for my creative little self and i found myself creating my own craft room in my house without realizing. Literally everything you could imagine. Sewing, cross stitching, crochet, knitting, painting, paint with gems, paint by numbers, coloring, EVERYTHING GIVE IT ALL TO ME ❤❤
And if you don't want to use actual supplies, there are lots of coloring apps - great if you have a tablet. When I want to zone out, I put on a podcast and open Happy Color. I also find things like word games and crossword puzzles relaxing - achallenging puzzle can keep me occupied for a while. Oh...and gluebooking! Use a cheap notebook or (or any publication you would normally throw out/recycle - catalogs, brochures, etc.) and glue stuff in it (magazine images, product packaging, paper scraps, etc.). That's it. It doesn't have to be pretty, it doesn't have to make sense, and you don't have to show it to anyone - don't think, just glue. If you are feeling more creative, you can try collaging, which a more intentional combination of images, textures and colors. There's lots of good gluebookers and collagers here on YT if you need some inspiration. 😊
I love cozy hobbies because they can be cheaper and so relaxing. I do a lot of the ones you mentioned. One of my favorites that you didn't mention is working on jigsaw puzzles while I listen to a podcast or audiobook. It helps me better retain the information and helps my focus.
I already love some of these hobbies, coloring, knitting, crocheting. During the pandemic I got into jigsaw puzzles!!! Soooo cozy and calming. Highly recommended.
I love magazines! There’s something luxurious about sitting down with a magazine and a coffee, tea, cocktail, and just reading. And it feels so much more relaxing than reading similar information on the internet but that feels limitless, but a magazine has a limited number of pages to read. You can read the articles in whatever order you like, but there are a fixed amount of them, no endless clicking.
An idea for creative writing is to write about all the times you've succeeded at something or tender moments you remember or compliments you received, things you're proud of, etc. I also like to watch UA-cam videos as a hobby. I just skip around from one interesting topic to another. Yours popped up today! Dancing is also fun. I've been taking a line dancing class and practice with UA-cam videos. Love jigsaw puzzles.
I loooooove everything you said about hobbies because I FELT THAT and yes hobbies should be joyful and low stress!!! I think nowadays there’s so much pressure to make all our hobbies side hustles. It’s so important to have hobbies that are just for ourselves.
Also one of my fav cozy hobbies: baking! It helps me put my mind on something else when I’m stressed, it makes my apartment smell yummy, and I get to share my treats with others! Win-win!
So glad this came up in my feed! YES to all of this! I used to hoard magazines! I am a creative planner. That is my #1 hobby. It really brings me joy. I used to scrapbook and I’d like to start doing it digitally. I have so many coloring books I need to start coloring too. Love this and subscribing ❤
I absolutely love the idea of writing and creating my own little world without thinking too hard about it! I've never even thought about it in that way, I've always stopped from writing because I thought I wasn't a writer. So thank you :) I'm going to write a cute story this week
Cross-stitch is amazing! Super easy to learn (much easier than knitting or crochet, imo), very inexpensive, and as a bonus, you can so easily translate pixel art from video games into cross-stitch patterns and make yourself gamer wall decor. Fangamer even sells a Stardew Valley cross-stitch book that I highly recommend, and there’s free patterns online too!
I have quite the cross stitch collection, I never really got into it (because of 29 other hobbies). Maybe I’ll go get one of those kits out of storage soon!!
I'm trying to get back into hobbies after a long time of burnout and just how you talk about things is really motivating! I've started playing cozy games, I'm trying to read more because my tbr is endless 😂, I crochet while listen to audio dramas ( currently addicted to the Magnus Archives!), colour, and play bass guitar, acoustic guitar and piano. I find learning instruments very cozy and comforting, and ukulele is a great entry point! Thanks again ❤❤
I knit, crochet, and play video games with my little daughters- these are some of the best times! You’re absolutely right. Maybe I’ll check out a gaming magazine or something… thanks for the great ideas!
I started crocheting in April of 2022 and I'm obsessed! My favorite is the granny hexagon cardigans. It's very repetitive so I can also watch my shows or listen to my audiobooks while I work.
@@Lisareads72 I used PassioKnit's tutorial and I thought she explained the steps very well, so I highly recommend her for help. The most stressful part is definitely the first 2-3 rows since it's so small at that point.
As an art teacher who struggles with burnout, coloring pages are my therapy! I don't feel like doing art when I get home and this fulfills my need. Hopefully I can get back my creative spark when school is out fir summer
I'm so glad you mentioned board games. It is another huge community that you can get involved in or just clear the table and take all the bits and pieces out and play yourself.
This topic resonates with me. I'm in my 60s and remember how much I loved going through my mom's collection of magazines like Woman's Day and The Ladies Home Journal. I also hung around the magazine section of any store I was in. Reading is one of the most accessible hobbies there is. I also enjoy coloring now and then and doing crossword puzzles and anagrams. They were all great ideas.
Girl yes!! Magazines are SO underrated! I used to flip through them when I was a kid (pre cell phone era) lol and it was just so nice. Once you finish looking through it that's it, no forever scrolling on your phone. I love it too so I'm glad I'm not the only one 😌 thanks for all of your cosy content girl I appreciate it so much 🤎 My hobbies are all of the grandma hobbies you mentioned, I love making little crochet amigurumi toys they're so cute! I think you'd enjoy making plushies too
AND when you’re done looking through the magazine you can cut it up and collage it! I took all my home magazines and collaged them in a sketchbook and added commentary on my favorite parts, ideas for my own house, etc. 🥰
I looove this video. Some more cozy hobbies: 1) plants - I love spending some time watering and taking care of my plants each week. It's so wholesome and makes me feel present. 2) baking - I am just getting into baking bundt cakes and it's been so fun to experiment with different recipes and they look so cute when you're done! 3) Painting my nails - I am a licensed nail tech but even before I was, I got a gel kit and there are so many amazing products available now to diy your nails and learn nail art. It makes you feel cute + a very grounding activity. Love your content!
You would definitely love the danish concept of hygge from Denmark ive got the little book of hygge and 2 other hygge books want to live a hygge cottagecore life with video games and movies love your videos always puts a smile on my face
June's Journey is the best game for Cozy feels :) Thank you! Thank you so much for making me discover Creative Haven coloring books! Finally coloring book that I like! :) And Good Housekeeping magazines doesn't exist anymore in paper format... only digital :(
I'm going to retire early at age 53 this year and I think you have an untapped market for your cozy vids...retirees or early retirees who need fresh ideas about what to do with their time. This video is one awesome example. You're opening up FUN and cozy hobbies to people who are trying to transition out of focusing on work all the time.
I have been a geeky cross stitcher since stumbling on the geeky patterns on etsy. It’s relaxing, mindful, and I can keep my hands busy when watching movies or tv or doing focused talking.
I love that you love magazines 😭 for me it makes me feel so nostalgic because I’ve always flipped through the new magazines/catalogs at my Mommom’s house since I was little 🥺 I could definitely see me getting into that especially when she’s no longer here 😭💜
I just got into paint by number kits! They’re so easy to just sit down and do- without having to tap into a ton of creativity! I buy mine at Michael’s but I’m sure they have them on Amazon
Love your thoughts. Hobbies have always been important to me -- movies, hiking, writing, photography, video, art...Playing Frosthaven now via webcam with our son on another coast.
Ravelry is a great resource for crochet or knitters! There are a lot of free patterns on there (as well as ones to purchase) and they have a fairly good search system for desired patterns/skein lengths/etc. I definitely recommend checking it out before Etsy!
My favorite magazine for years was Southern Living. I'll still pick one up from time to time. I used buy a stack of magazines around the holidays and simply devour them. My current favorites in terms of magazines are Bella Grace and In Her Studio... They're quarterly and I just love them for their coziness and creativity, short stories and inspiration. Baking is a hobby of mine. So is crochet and cross-stitching. I bought a paint-by-number last night. I have a small collection of jigsaw puzzles, too. Writing is my job, so that one goes without saying. But reading is big for me, too.
I love, love your list! Most of these are my favs too! But check out Glue Books! A great combo of vision boards, magazines, writing, coloring and gluing!! You will love it!❤️❤️❤️
I like a lot of the hobbies you mentioned. I would add using Fountain pens to that list. I bought some in December and use them for everything, not even calligraphy. Literally for writing in my journals or taking notes, etc. I also make journals and planners and that is a super relaxing activity and fun! I do crochet as well and on my bucket list for 2023 id learning to knit. This year I did buy a few books to read but my goal is to also read through books I purchased in the past and never read. 🙂
Love the idea of cozy hobbies. Besides playing cozy games and reading, I also love baking and playing the piano, both of which I think are super cozy too.
a good home and garden magazine will just refill my soul!!! I've gotten into hobbies in the last year - books/audiobooks, watercolor painting, and gardening predominantly! Trying to take up crochet and/or knitting, journaling, and more art hobbies this year! I tried to take up video games, but I've just never been one to stick with it. Maybe I'll get around to it again this year!
I would add yoga to the list; it’s the coziest form of exercise! Cat-cows, twists, child’s pose all feel SO good in the body, and it keeps your mind in the present. It can be as intense or cozy as you want - either way, you’re being productive, because you’re moving and stretching your body. It’s hard not to feel even just a little bit better after doing yoga.
I stumbled by this video while cross stitching some peonies🙂 And I want to start crocheting again and try knitting and macrame, do another gem painting, finish my Doctor Who coloring book and read the books I have for a long time unread. And I used to love magazines and had a lot of them like 5-10 years ago. It was cozy to watch this video🙂
Love this video! A hobby that combines gaming and creativity for me is the sims. The way you talked about writing is kind of how I play the sims, I love creating a story/background for my sims. Not to mention all of the CC you can get to further unleash your creativity through CAS or interior decorating.
I like to make hair accessories. In my hair class I was told to make a hair piece and ever since I've been wanting to make another. I sew things together and it's very therapeutic for me
I started doing puzzles when COVID started and really enjoy doing them. You can totally turn off the part of your brain that is always thinking about what you need to do. I also love Sticker by Number books!
I love so many of these ideas! I'm becoming addicted to your channel. 🌺🌸💮 Reading and listening to podcasts is my go-to cozy activity when I'm under major stress, but I love the ideas you have. And that you're always in search of the things that will give you "cozy joy." I'm a stress magnet, with lots of things around me that induce anxiety. So I'm always looking for that next thing to add to my Cozy collection. I do embroidery (what used to be called crewel) because my mom gave me her 50-year-old framed crewel embroidery to keep. And it inspired me. There are lots of freebie patterns online, and it requires only a few things to get started. Also, macrame!! It's back in style, after all these years. And it's easy. I'm still using little kits, but I can see that I'll be quickly graduating to freestyle pretty soon. Also, one more thing... I totally agree that magazines are the ultimate cozy. When I was in the hospital, and having a rather painful surgery done, I couldn't focus on anything that required my hands doing anything. But magazines gave me a peaceful feeling. 💚
Love your video! Lots of great ideas. Some things I've done recently includes stenciling, watercolor painting, paint by number, collecting stickers and washi tape, writing letters, collecting rubber stamps, making soap, learning calligraphy, and growing my own herbs indoors. I recently got a needle felting kit on etsy but haven't tried it out yet.
Brilliant video, absolutely brilliant! I do all those hobbies you mentioned, as well as Diamond Painting (absolutely addictive), Scrapbooking, Junk Journalling, Collage (look up Margarette Miller), and I like to cut up Paper Dolls which is a dying hobby that needs to be resurrected. In my past, I’ve also tried Bobbin Lace Making and was heavily involved in Porcelain Painting. I’m going to have a crack at custom Blythe Dolls in the next couple of months.
I knit, crochet, read (Kobo), play on my Nintendo Switch and do jigsaw puzzles. There are heaps of modern ones out there both new and second hand. I also have a small collection of houseplants and a huge veggie garden that i work in most days. All of these things make me calm, relaxed and happy!
Giiiirrrrl! I send postcards! A few months ago I started sending postcards around the world and the picking or making the postcard, and decorating it has become my happy place. I get to be creative and make someone smile on the other side. It's a win win.🤗🥰
okay you've sold me on magazines!! i'm gonna go look up some subscriptions right now 💕 i started making lil earrings out of polymer clay last year which is so fun! nothing gives me more serotonin than wearing a cute messy pair of earrings in the shape of jam jars that i made with my own hands 🥰 lovely video, thank you!
Love this! I've always had a million hobbies and I think that's why being bored is such a rare thing for me. I learned to crochet last year and I love it. I used to be obsessed with magazines you make me want to get back into them 😩💕
I love this video so much 😭🎉 I started the new year by creating a “playroom” for myself. It has library books, coloring books, board games, paint, vinyls, nails polish, my switch, and I just got a Lego flower set. 📚 🎨 👾
I’m literally so proud of myself for being a 29 year old with a playroom 😂😂
Cheers to a cozy year!
Omg that sounds like a DREAM
Some dudes call that a man cave so you know x)
I call that my office. 😂 Also lots of plants, candles, and fairy lights ❤
That's GENIUS! I am so doing this.
Yes!!!!! I’m also 29 working on my creative space
I love how these are actually hobbies that you do FOR yourself and your own enjoyment. When it's so important to have activities that you enjoy just for the sake of doing them. So thank you for these fun tips! :)
I agree. The minute they have to pay to play it turns into a job not a hobby!
I love this video and idea 🥹💕 I would also recommend:
1. Doing stuff with beads. Weather it's those that can be ironed after completing the pattern or those that you pull on a little wire to create stuff.
2. Puzzles. Simple, classic ☺️
3. Making preserves - jams, pickles, etc
4. Collecting things - leaves, flowers, cool rocks, shells. Something to connect you to nature.
5. Learning useful stuff - how to sew on a button, how to bake bread, how to make basic repairs around the house.
Have fun y'all 💖

Love this so much I have switch and animal crossing, I have far too many Lego sets and gem paintings but I love that I am not alone ❤
If you're getting back into books attention wise, and you also go off on a train of thought listening to audiobooks - try both together! Follow along, it helped me a lot. After half a book I was back into reading independently and having the attention for it.
Ooo this is genius!!
LOVE this!! Thank you!!
Amazing!! Thank you! Gonna try this!
I do this for books I find tricky (usually nonfiction books) and if really helps 😁 I get through books after but also remember more!
A cozy magazine I recommend is Bella Grace 💖
I agree!
Coziness is important… Peaceful, calming and good for your mental health 😊👍🏻
Puzzles are really relaxing to me. It’s also great to bring people together. I will typically start a puzzle myself, but after an hour or two it becomes a relaxing family activity.

Thanks so much
You're an Angel
oh my god we have the same name, spelled the same way. 🥲🥲
Hiking! Of course, you can be super intense about it, but you don't have to be. Taking a walk through the woods can be so relaxing.

Yes! I’ve been doing something similar recently and it’s been a blast💕 gotta love a romcom moment
this comment made me cry btw :') it makes me so happy to have sparked a little writing session!
Your comment made me so happy! Writing can bring so much peace :)

I love cozy mysteries! Such fun reads.
Paint by numbers is also a great one! Still creative and soothing but no stressing about what colors to use or making it look perfect :)

I haven’t crossed stitch in over 30 years I use to love it
I'm trying to get back into hobbies after a long time of burnout and just how you talk about things is really motivating!
U mentioned the two I love. Audiobooks and diamond painting.
I tried one of those and it didn’t work out. I should try again. Thanks!
Zentangle, watercolor, reading, journaling, felting
My grandma taught me to crochet and I still do it pretty much every day. There's nothing like a local specialty yarn store!

This understanding is why I CAN watch and indulge in your ideas, pressure- free! It makes sense now
I looove this video. Some more cozy hobbies:
1) plants - I love spending some time watering and taking care of my plants each week.
That’s such good point!!!🫶🏽
Puzzle books totally count! I love me some logic problems, the kind where you fill in a grid to narrow down the answers, and my mom swears by sudoku.
Duuuuude I was absolutely OBSESSED with magazines when I was a kid and I kinda forgot how much I loved them until you said something omg🥹
Mini succulent gardens! There not too difficult to keep alive and you can do little sand designs and setups. 🎍
my favorite cozy time hobby is watching movies, Random Harvest is my ultimate cozy time movie
You will love it!❤️❤️❤️
Actual jigsaw puzzles as well! They’re so relaxing and cozy, and fun to do with a friend while having conversations
Watching your videos is my new cozy hobby 🧸🤎
What wonderful suggestions for coloring! I love my Crayola Supertips and the Teresa Goodridge books are some of the best!
I think “childish” activities are important no matter your age. Nurture your inner child and creativity through play!
Love the idea of cozy hobbies. Besides playing cozy games and reading, I also love baking and playing the piano, both of which I think are super cozy too.
You give off such a lovely vibe 😊 I always leave your videos in a more peaceful, calmer mood so thank you 🙏
Aw I do card readings, card crafting with stickers & cozy gaming too♡ yays
So many great ideas! I love gardening as a cozy hobby, because its so rewarding. ☺
a good home and garden magazine will just refill my soul!!!
I love to put on my headphones and listen to a podcast while I walk my dog, it’s so relaxing.
I agree with the magazines thing, I used to love getting them and I would read them and really enjoy them. I need to start getting back into that
Add embroidery and gardening. Love your vibe.
Calligraphy is a current love!
Love this video! A hobby that combines gaming and creativity for me is the sims. The way you talked about writing is kind of how I play the sims, I love creating a story/background for my sims. Not to mention all of the CC you can get to further unleash your creativity through CAS or interior decorating.
yesss that’s so true!! so many forms of creativity in the sims!
I love magazines, I do housekeeping and my client gives me all her magazine's!
I love coloring and reading books. And I graduated from art school, so I love to paint and take photos
I have two in one: knitting and crochet magazines!
I just bought 2 new puzzles yesterday - i haven't puzzled in YEARS!💚
OMG I got into coloring about a good year , year and a half ago...I looooove it.. I use colored pencils
I forgot how much I used to love magazines!
I’m going to have a crack at custom Blythe Dolls in the next couple of months.
color by numbers or sticker mosaic books are the best!!
I love playing very easy songs with my kalimba. It is an affordable instrument and not too hard to learn.
I love using magazines for smashbooks or scrapbooking!!
It's a win win.🤗🥰
awww that sounds so lovely!!
okay you've sold me on magazines!! i'm gonna go look up some subscriptions right now 💕 i started making lil earrings out of polymer clay last year which is so fun! nothing gives me more serotonin than wearing a cute messy pair of earrings in the shape of jam jars that i made with my own hands 🥰 lovely video, thank you!
Love this! I've always had a million hobbies and I think that's why being bored is such a rare thing for me. I learned to crochet last year and I love it. I used to be obsessed with magazines you make me want to get back into them 😩💕
Girl I’m with you a magazine just hits different. I even get excited just finding a catalog in my mailbox
