- The quite calming sound of an old diesel engine whirring about for 10 hours. This is a nice sleep sound to play in your bedroom if you like listening to static sounds and want to try something new, unless you already have a diesel engine sound in your collection. The screen fades to fully black after 15 seconds
Static sounds are great to use as sleep sounds if you don't like silence in your bedroom, or if you want to block out other annoying external sounds from your environment. Examples of this can be construction, people talking outside your window, dogs barking, cars honking, neighbor's music, and other disruptive sounds created by men or machines. Brown noise explained: Brown noise is deeper and stronger at the low end of the sound spectrum. It does not contain any high-frequency sounds like pink and white noise does. Yes, this is exactly the sound I need. I'm a maritime worker and sleeping near the constant distant humming of the diesel generators make me not sleep once at home and quiet.

As a truck driver, I have to pass on this one. At the end of my shift, shutting off the truck is the best sound I can think of. 😁

I have been looking for a diesel cruiser noise set for a long time. This is as close to my parent's boat as I've yet found... thank you! They had a Cummins 555VT in our 60ft schooner. We often had to powersail because the boat was so heavy and deep-drafted. Many mornings that old engine was my alarm clock, stumbling and banging until it warmed up enough to stop shivering and hit on all 8.
I do have a suggestion for a new soundtrack... a small diesel, like that in a small sailboat or trawler. Perkins 13 hp, Yanmar 18 hp, Westerbeke 12 hp... along those lines. We also had a 27ft Bayliner Buccaneer 285 while they built the big boat... it had a Perkins 13 in it. I absolutely loved the sound of that little 2-banger sewing machine engine.

You know you can change the playback speed? It's not ideal but worth trying.
