When you glue it make sure you use a toothpick and don’t use a lot of glue. I still read everyday out of my Pitt and and it had hole up really well. Thanks for your support. God Bless
@@gypsylane8723 *So you're advising to use a toothpick instead of a tiny brush like the one you used in the video? (In retrospect, was the brush you used too much glue or something?) Or is the toothpick a closer edge type thing?) thank you, Gypsy. Blessings. 😇*
My two Pitt Minions are too new to exhibit the separation you illustrate, but if they do start to come apart, I'll know what to do to remedy the problem. Thanks and God bless!
I hope that works. I've never owned a Pitt Minion. The font in the Cambridge wide margin Bibles is too small for me, so I've never been tempted to buy a Pitt Minion. But I'm happy you can use them. I wonder if Cambridge is aware of this flaw and plans to improve its design or manufacturing processes.
R. Grant Jones Cambridge is aware, as that is what why say it's wear and tear, I'm happy with the the repair I did and think it will help the bible last longer. Thanks for your support.
Funny enough, I did this trick with some old GLUED binding ones that was just bonded leather, and it worked fine, I had to reapply it about once every 3+ months (I read my Bible 4-5 hrs everyday) and I also slopped on glue alone the bottom and top corners where it was splitting...that held as well, but after time I got to the point where it was so worn I couldn’t worry much about hurting it...and I eventually just literally used black (electrical) tape and covered the entire front and back lol and that did the job. It Actually looks cool now. I just used wood glue btw haha so using book glue would give better results. PSA: my bible I did this to was just my very first CHEAP ($15) bonded leather compact Bible, so I’m not suggesting anyone do what I did with your premium bibles. If you’ve got a Pitt like I do, they sell actual book glue, AND leather working glue, so if you get splits and cracks, that glue will work.
Wish I could get my 1910 Thompson repaired, and my 1849 Cambridge pulpit Bible . The Thompsons cover is dried and cracked. The Cambridge is weathered and the binding is loosening. I'm thinking about repatriation... It belonged to s family, do trying to find the descendants is like finding a needle in a haystack. A lot of tracking on family tree websites. Then I have a old RV...with side by side KJV. Could use a rebinding.
That is great that this repair worked for you. This video will be helpful for others experiencing the same problem.
thanks
So far I think I am having success with this method. I got my glue today and tried it on a book of mine. Going to try it on my concordance next.
thats great it has worked for you,
Thanks for showing us this quick and easy repair.
thanks for your support Bless you
Thanks for the good tip! I am going to try this on one of mine that I tried to repair with washi! Thanks for sharing!
Try and make sure your washi tape is acid free or over time it will turn your page well and it will become unstick able. Bless you.
I just ordered the glue your using. I read my bibles constantly. I am going to try this method. Looks promising

A toothpick to apply the glue? Your welcome, thank you for making a video that’s easy to understand
@@chelseadecarlo6804 yer if you use a toothpick you wont over do the glue.

@@sylvia4425 you can use either. The brunch I used was very fine sometimes the toothpick can put more glue on the edge.
