I am 100% with you on the plants. I am terrible at keeping them alive but I still have the urge to bring them home. I am putting them on my "Absolutely Not" list too!
@@SharieDeBord It's sad because I love them but I am really bad at them. I tell people I am an anti-druid who thinks she is a druid. (It's a roleplaying game thing, we are huge geeks)
@ I love plants too and am reasonably good at keeping them alive but I ALWAYS end up chucking them after a year or so 😂 the only plants I’ve kept are my huge cacti I’ve had for years!
Hi Keelan🙋♀️ Being ‘the best laid plans of Mice and Men OFTEN go awry…. I’m definitely going to implement physically writing down a ‘Plan/Rules’ which I hadn’t thought of, so I’m grateful for that suggestion. Although you have a family and I now live alone, I echo that we need ‘breaks’ to recharge or just have a change of scenery, also that they don’t have to be expensive. So a part of my plan will be to go from one weeks holiday a year to 4 mini ones. Like yourself I’m feeling excited about our NBY also that I found your channel WHEN I did so I’ve also had time to ease myself into it whilst at same time enjoying decluttering etc! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🥳
Hi Jeanette! Yes it definitely helps getting it down on paper and having a plan before we start 😊 I think a change of scenery is so good for your mental health. I would go on breaks alone too if I lived alone. I think they’re really important! That’s great you’re planning some mini breaks too! I think decluttering really helps with the No buy mindset too. It reminds us of what we already have and it helps you not want to accumulate more! Xx
Hello lovely how are you? I am so so busy so I’m taking time to watch whilst I do some Christmas bakingx I like your no spend year so far sounds great. I’m planning on doing the same or low budget x
Aw hello, how are you this week? That sounds lovely and relaxing. If you like Christmas baking that is! What are you baking? Aw good luck with your no buy/low budget too! Xx
I really need to make a plan similar to yours!! I've got into really bad habits with spending. This will be really important when I move ( Co Down ) either next month or January. I'm a resin artist and one of my very bad habits is buying things I can put resin on, ie, wooden cheeseboard, slate tiles and many, many other things 🫣😳. B&M, Home Bargains are lethal for more 😂. I have 26 large boxes of art supplies to move !! I don't buy a lot of really cheap toiletries, as they're not as good as the brands I like. However, I got into another habit of panic buying certain products due to the product not being restocked in B&M or HB. I can sometimes buy them elsewhere, but double the price!! What do I do 🤔🤷♀️. Charity shops are another very bad vice! When packing I took 3 black bags full of charity shop bargains back to the shops, mostly clothing that I wore once or twice and decided I didn't like or not worn at all!. Your idea of making lists for spending is good one, I'm going to do that 😊
Aw it’s hard not to spend money on the things you’re passionate about! I think crafting is a good use of money.. unless it’s buying more than we have time to do. I’m trying to stop hoarding stuff and just use what’s there. Resin art looks really interesting! Do you sell any of your work? I am banning myself from going into shops like that during my no buy because they are dangerous lol. They put ideas in your head! I think tracking your spending on paper can be so helpful. Xx
@thefunkythrifter hi, yes, I do sell the resin pieces through gift shops where I'm currently living. I have ideas for expanding the business when I move. It's a very addictive hobby 🤣🫣. I don't need to buy any more wooden boards for several years 😳. Lucky when I move over B&M , HB are not so close as they are now, which should deter me. I hope!
@tazminmoore455 yeah whenever they are on your doorstep it’s too easy to just wander in! We moved a bit further away from ours too and it has definitely made a difference… that and me realising how many things I bought from them that I didn’t plan to buy until I was walking around! That sounds so cool, I love resin art, it’s so pretty. That’s great you sell in craft shops! At least that offsets some of the purchases too 😊❤️
I sometimes challenge myself to donate/sell/gift my stuff before I can buy something new (get rid of 100 things challenge) or I buy something new only when I can find place for it or replace something old. But I still struggle..😅
That’s a great idea! It makes you consider whether you like something enough to get rid of something else! I might have to do the 100 items challenge too because my clutter is accumulating again lol.
Im going to do a no buy in 2025 too! I was watching this while planning my video and it made e think about what my absolutely nots are (books) but I also think theres a difference in my head between a no buy and a no spend, like no buy for me is about not bringing things I dont need etc into the house whereas no spend would be like not spending money does that make sense?
Aw that’s great, good luck for your no buy! Yeah that makes sense to me too! I don’t want to bring physical objects into my house unless I’m replacing something and I just want to be more mindful of what I spend on activities but spending on experiences rather than stuff is an aim of mine. I love your UA-cam name by the way! Xx

We are probably doing them a favour in the long run by not buying them lol. Maybe they will end up living with a gardener instead 😂 xx
@@thefunkythrifter Probably! ^_^
Plants are on my not allowed list too 😂

I’m also doing a no buy in 2025 and did a video similar to yours! Excited to watch how yours goes next year! 🎉
Aw good luck with your no buy! I will have to keep up with yours too 😊❤️
Great lists! I am considering no buy for a bit as well. Writing things down is so helpful!
It really is! Aw good luck if you end up doing a no buy as well 😊 thanks for taking the time to comment xx
I started writing up my rules the other day, I'm super excited to embark on this also 😊
Aw that’s great, I think it can be a fun challenge if we made it something to look forward to 😊❤️

Aw you’ve been busy. That sounds lovely 😊 xx
@@thefunkythrifter thank you: trying to save us some money as January is a very long dark month x
@Mumaof1 it is. I think we have to make it brighter for ourselves. I might put up some different lights when I take the Christmas ones down. Xx
I do the same homemade coffee, going to cafe’s cost much more then homemade
Yes it’s crazy how much a single cup of coffee costs now! I’ve got used to mine at home and now it tastes strange too lol xx
