Alphaville is a German synth-pop band which gained popularity in the 1980s. The founding members were lead singer Marian Gold (real name Hartwig Schierbaum; born 1954), Bernhard Lloyd (real name Bernhard Gössling; born 1960), and Frank Mertens (real name Frank Sorgatz; born 1961). They achieved chart success with the singles "Forever Young", "Big in Japan", "Sounds Like a Melody", "The Jet Set" and "Dance with Me"

World famous music artists performed on TopPop: ABBA, 10CC, Bee Gees, The Jacksons with Michael Jackson, David Bowie, Earth & Fire, Queen, Golden Earring, Boney M, KC & The Sunshine Band, Chic, Donna Summer and many many more.
The 1980's produced a lot of artist from New Wave, R&B, Rap, Rock, Heavy Metal and many levels in music.

the attitudes of musicians and singers in the early 80s when performing to studio tracks for shows will never not be entertaining. ;) In this case, the two keyboardists are stars! Love it! I unfortunately grew up in the US and only learned about Alphaville in 1985 and missed all of this. I still listen to the albums, though!
