I like to think that in the few moments before shooting Aang with lightning, Azula looked around the room, noticed everyone completely entranced by Aang in the Avatar state and thought “so nobody else is going to seize this opportunity? Okay, I’ll do it.”
No point in delaying the inevitable
The moment I cried so hard when Aang went down😢. Thank the spirits for Katara.
Most shocking moment in avatar
Uncle Iroh is the MVP as usual.
What is MVP?
@@gabrieldiniz6873most valuable player in sports or most valuable person in any other scenario.
thanks so much@@blazetino5713

Zuko wouldn't feel so guilty if Iroh helped alongside him and Azula. He was ready to move on from the war, his mission and past, find a peaceful place next to his uncle for the rest of his life away from any conflict. But actively opposing his nation and people, allying himself with his enemies? At the time of Book 2 this was too much for Zuko. Although he already witnessed how much damage Fire Nation caused, he still felt it's just a cost of war, because war is not a pretty thing, even if meant to "share greatness with the rest of the world".
Only after witnessing how his father was truly depraved in his plans for world domination, one day before the Eclipse and desertion, he realized this was too much, even for the war that lasted for 100 years.
I think you might have a point. If Iroh, Zuko’s moral compass, was on his side, Zuko wouldn’t have felt as bad because by betraying Iroh Zuko betrayed the person closest to him while he was in exile in order to please his evil father who banished him in the first place. Iroh, for all his pleasantries, had no problem to wage this war for many years. If I remember correctly he only went against the Fire Nation because the two were declared traitors and to protect his nephew. Following his father’s legacy meant as much as it did for Ozai, in his own twisted way, and I bet that Azulon wasn’t any different than Ozai, and Iroh himself was once power-hungry and cruel to his enemies. I love Iroh as much as the next person, but it’s important to note that a very specific turn of events turned him into who he became, and without that change, Iroh would’ve remained a ruthless General and likely even conceive the plan to eradicate the Water Tribe himself using Sozin’s Comet, provided Azulon is dead by that point and Iroh is Fire Lord. Sorry for the long comment.
Aang getting defeated in the AVATAR STATE is so shattering, and it really shows Azulas strength
Not really her strength, because let's be real. Aang liquefied Ozai in the Avatar State, so there's literally no way she could stand anything even resembling a chance against him in a straight-up fight. It's more her cunning, seeing as she struck him with lightning before he finished activating the Avatar State.
As cowardly, Azula is in the face of making mistakes. This shows her genius intelligence. Emotionally manipulating everyone into position, planning ahead for an exposure of her coup, using Zuko's dreams and insecurities against him, and framing Zuko for Aang's death when she thinks Aang survived her attack. This shows how far she's willing to go to make her victory as flawless as possible.
The team Avatar studio have always been great at writing cliff hangers. I can’t think of any other shows that could outmatch them.
Aang and Katara Vs Zuko and Azula is my favorite epic battle in season 2 and I love this episode so much
Bro immediately said, “It’s time I faced Azula.”
Then immediately gets destroyed by her guards in the next scene
Still to this day, I don't understand why the Dai Li betrayed Long Feng in the finale. I get Feng wanted to usurp the Earth King to gain power, but I don't get why they then betrayed him to side with Azula to allow the Fire Nation to take over Ba Sing Se. Furthermore, like the archers in Season 1, they became underused in Season 3 by only appearing in 3 episodes.
They want power, and figured they'd be better off with Azula than with Long Feng.
I think it's because they knew about sozin's comet. They know all about the history of the war and how the air nation fell in one day from the fire nation's enhanced power. The fire nation could have easily taken ba sing se. With the dai li and fire nation's combined strength victory seemed more certain to them. The Avatar taking down the firelord before sozin's comet seemed like a much riskier option.
@@Jetisan smart
and also - they saw more potential in her than in Long Feng. Azula was cunning, ruthless and had tremendous influencea and the Dai Li saw that. You wouldn't want to be on the side of the losers
No honor among thieves
I like how Iroh knew exactly where the avatar lived. He really did have the avatar in his sleeve the whole time.
Even as a little kid Zuko joining Azula made zero sense to me 😂
It makes more sense than him joining aang actually. What never made sense is the Dai Lee betraying long Feng
@@zarkahmed3199 in the original script zuko was going to join the gang at the end of book 2
@@hueyfreeman6262 they changed that script for a reason
Kinda sad when you think about how Iroh was always there for him and Zuko just couldn’t let go of his honor
And Azula used Zuko's need to gain their father's love and acceptance to sway him into siding with her instead because she knows that's what he always wanted
Great episode!
Azula shocking Aang to stop the Avatar state was insane!😲😲😲😲
Actually Azula killed Aang. Even Aang knows he died. Luckily Katara had the Spirit Water plus her Healing ability to resurrect Aang.
It was a shocking moment indeed
@@williamr1088 no. I think she just knocked him out.
Azula Lightning Bending at Aang
@@TXScherzer23 yeah.
It took them 100 years, but the Fire Nation conquered Ba Sing Se.
Especially since she set him up once before
Iroh the GOAT 🐐
an episode where Azula almost End Avatar Cycle before Zaheer 😰
I was gonna say that 😅 gosh, she's crazy
I wonder… did Toph not know Aang was lying because they were riding Appa? Was that an intentional detail to avoid Toph revealing Aang’s uncertainty to everyone else?
I thought about that, maybe it’s because they were on Appa and not the ground
Wow that’s so smart
Great theory.
Toph can only tell when people are lying when her feet are touching the earth, because that’s how she hears their breathing and heartbeat
Toph can only feel tremors through the ground. Not appa.
Long Feng should have squared up to Azula.
Period!!!! 😂 🐱
Tear bending every time😭
I'd be willing to bet that after this, somewhere in Katara's mind, she'd want to find Zuko during the invasion and personally make him pay
one of the best episodes
Period 💯 ❤

Great and all but why did you cut the zuko and katara part 😭
Cause it’s irrelevant
Because they have a video of them already, just search "katara zuko" and you can watch their dialogue
Tear bending 😢
To not attract the Zutara shippers

Best episode of the entire show! Hands down!

A thing that I just noticed is why did Aang transform into the Avatar State right in front of Azula, Zuko, and the Dai Li agents? Did he think that this was DBZ and they would just wait for him to transform, or that the transformation couldn't be stopped once started, or was it a mistake by the writers?
Aang has been the worst avatar, it doesn't really surprise me.
@@retired-s5h well he was just a kid throughout most of the series

The Rope Is Tied Around Appa’s Sharp Pointed horns
What I find cunning is that Azula used Zuko's need for their father's love and acceptance to sway him into siding with her because she knows that Ozai's acceptance was all Zuko wanted in his entire life

If Zuko hadn't sided with Azula, Katara would never have needed to use her spirit water on Aang and then could have used it on Zuko if he decided to join the Gaang instead.
Wonder how they’ll do this in the live action
I'm seeing this that why is Toph holding Sokka's hand when he's involved with Suki, maybe Toph likes him. And the way Azula shot Aang with lightning was was terrifying, luckily Katara was there to save Aang and used some spirit oasis water to save Aang. And did you see the way Toph broke down that cell door, it was like she was squashing a lemon and I think Sikka is the handsomest gut in ATLA because even Ty Lee likes. Thank guys I enjoyed the video, see you

The thumbnail kinda makes it look like Zuko is defending Katara and Aang imo.
Full episode in 10minutes is not a full episode
Better than nothing lol
Cold.
I hope the Netflix version must improve azula. In the animated series, she's so perfect
The craziest part is that toph should of known that aang was lying
She does that by sensing someone's heart rate through earth. Her senses don't work on appa since you can't sense it through flesh

Toph is truly an alpha female 😂 I love it. Wish we saw more fights with her vs Azula
Cool 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I wonder why Patik said that Aang won't be able to enter the Avatar State at all if he left before mastering the 7th Chakra? Even though he does so while facing Azula & Zuko.
Think of it more like, when he meditates, he would be able to reach out and make contact with the avatar state, but when he meditated, he couldn't reach it. Patik explained, he needs to rid himself of attachment, and instead think of katara as just someone else he has no attachment to. By thinking this way, when he sits and meditates, he would be able to reach the avatar state. Its hard to explain it, but just imagine it as a type of metaphor or symbolically. What Patik meant to say is, aang can't reach the avatar state unless he lets her go, and patik was convinced he would have to be there to verbally guide aang through the process. However, aang is just naturally able to do it, even without patiks help. He enclosed himself in crystals, mentally dismissed katara, and then started to meditate and was reaching the avatar state again, but gets struck by lightning.

It’s so heartbreaking to see Aang panic over Katara. He heard her thought that there were too many and that prompted him to lose her in his attempt to save her
Azula is almost the anit-villain, subverting typical villain pratfalls and expectations. When Zuko challenges her to an ag ni kai she waves him off because she has much more important things to do where as the typical villain would never pass that up. When Aang is about to become all powerful she kills him before he can, when other villains (including the ones in the scene) would've just watched in awe and waited patiently for the hero to finish. She does this time and time again and it's what makes her so compelling and one of the best written villains to date
