Allegiant G428 G4 28 Airbus A320 AWA LAS Mesa Gateway to Las Vegas

This was from March 2023. Ugh... Where do I begin? So many things went wrong with this relatively short trip. After a few days visiting family in Arizona, it was time to head back to Hong Kong. I booked this trip to try both Allegiant and Gateway Airport.
I wasn't able to check-in until two hours prior to "scheduled" departure, but that gave me time to shift some things around in my bags to meet their limits. At check-in, they told me the flight would be an hour late. I checked, and the plane for our flight to Vegas, was on its way from Des Moines, and was due to land about an hour late.
No problem, they gave me directions to a cafe, Barrio Brewing Company, I could go to for an early dinner and it had great airside views. The weather was cloudy, and light rain, but nothing crazy.
Finally, I was able to go through security, which at that time meant leaving one building to go into another. I believe that's fixed now. It's a relatively small and equipped terminal. At that time where a few flights to Canada, but Allegiant was the dominant player.
While waiting for my flight, I received an email, that my hotel room in Vegas was canceled. I called, and they said it was suspected fraud, and there was nothing they could do. I struggled to get a new room on short notice again, thinking I'd be there in a few hours.
Our plane arrives, staff are at the gate, lots of busy work, but then a thunderstorm moves in. It was gone after about 45 minutes and other flights started leaving. We started hearing rumors of a cancelation maybe. The staff at the gate was long gone, then after about an hour after the storm, someone came in from the ramp and said we're boarding.
After boarding, we waited another two hours to takeoff. No service on the flight. But we landed 5 hours late! What was interesting, was listening to LiveATC, the tower was closed, so the pilots were making general aviation type announcements for takeoff. There was another flight, I believe to Des Moines, which was also very late.
Not sure if I would give Allegiant another chance as it really doesn't fit where I fly, but also, I generally need to be confidence in the timing of the airline.
