This has to be one of the best terrain tutorials using c4d only. I only wish that I came across it earlier! Great presentation! Keep the tuts coming!!!!
Really great presentation! Seeing the whole process step by step with the explanations as to why each choice was taken was really helpful. More like this please!
Thanks for this, awesome talk! but Is it not better to mask two materials rather than using both the snow and rock in the same material? I assume you would have more control over each material and also would not need to copy the terrain shader for each slot (bump, diffuse, reflectance etc..) Is there a way to this, mask with the terrain mask two actual materials?
Doing so would be useless. otherwise you would have to adjust both materials sequentially and identically instead of just using one material for it. IMHO a waste of time how you state it. Keep It simple. One material that does all of this-not two.
This is great! But it would be great also to know how big was the plane and how many subdivisions has been set. I try to follow the tutorial but the results is not very cool as in this step by step tutorial. I guess because we missed how to set up the Subdivision Surface and also the plane dimensions. Any helps would be very appreciated :))
Try to set the plane to 2000cm x 2000cm with about 500 width and height segments, if it is not smooth enough with the displacer turned off, you can up that amount but be careful not to overdo it. In the noiseshader settings switch to global scale 400 % and set the space to UV (2D) that worked for me, so that i could follow from there
I cant believe I'm still watching....22 min in....well times 22 min by...a lot lol How did he even figure this out? 2017? Wonder what he's making now....
thank you for very informative lesson. I've got a question - what's the difference between this approach of landscape modeling and the primitive "Landscape" with it's random shapes?
anyone else having problems with the terrain mask not working? it seems to be not mapping in the right way.I cant find what the problem is, ive followed these steps but i cant get the result
The Climate cycles of our water planet as determined by our solar systems Great Year are continental glaciers with lower sea levels (Atlantis's, Dwarka) brought on by east to west global tsunami's (Gobekli tepe, earth) every 13,000 years when we cross the galaxies electromagnetic plane.
That was incredible! Thanks for making this.

You are a legend! I have seen so many great nuggets in the content browser with your credits! Thanks for putting on the noise lessons :)
Beautiful!
Beautiful!!
What a master ! thanks for this awesome lecture
Great way to create landscape, previously i used VUE for such a modeling, but now i will try this trick, thanks Eric
Thank you, great explanation!!
Fantastic!
Thanks for sharing, Highly informative, helpful, From the Novice, to the Pro. Thank you.
this is incredible
Brilliant!
really really well!
Thanks for the tips, great presentation!
Thank you.
Awesome video! We need more of such tutorials.
Thank you!
Best tutoriel about landscape making in c4d, thank u!!
Great tutorial
it's really great workshop for creating Landscape !
Thank you so much for this tutorial, really good to try learn this stuff.
awesome. thanks alot!!
Really handy, well done!
Great tutorial! We would love to see more about environment creation ❤️
amazing
11:24 "WHAT"
super cool ...
More from IBC please
Very Cool tutorial!!!
great
Impressive.
thanks a lot for this tutorial!!!!!!
Link does not work ;)
Really wish you had shown the original plane settings! So hard to follow without knowing
I used 4000cm x 4000cm for scale, and 400 x 400 for the height and width segments and that worked for me
@@Trickywoo12 Thanks!
@@Trickywoo12 Hell yes THANKS!! Great tut but its the small details left out that might throw the entire thing off lol...
Yessss thank you. Its quickly obvious the plane needs to change size but annoying to not know.

ElFaTaL0r! Yeah But 250 Segments is Enough For Both. I have Done It looks Same like in This Video.

in the falloff i do not have the same settings
any tips? thanks

you use only one soft
How can his Displacer displace the Plane without it being a Child of the Plane? That is a puzzlement to me....
i'm wondering about that too!
because they are both child of the subdivison surface
8:49 I'm on Mac and there's no way to add another noise as there's no options in the shader properties to do so, I can only add one noise

If I convert this with corona converter, is it going to work?
Can you make the same shader with Octane?
check out the triplanar projection node
Me as a beginner in C4D : why don't you use landscape in objects tab?
Dumb question, but what's the size of the plane? 4000cm x 4000cm?
yes!

You need a pretty good computer to do such detailed creations. Don't you?
In this video hes doing it on a laptop. It should be possible on a mediocre pc.
i was able to make stuff like this with gtx 550ti and i5 2500k xD
Also you can create terrain using Terrain Builder Cinema

Look at this Maya .... Okay, it's useless to wait for something new for Maya not even a curvature node
You are a Moron.
