Hi I just wanted to say thank you so much!! I was so terrified about taking the medications because I thought I was going to do them wrong or mess them up somehow. I downloaded your videos and followed along with them every single night until I finally felt like I got the hang of the medications and was mixing them like a pro lol! Even you responding back to answer questions was amazing! I just wanted to let you know that because of your videos I made it through my egg retrieval and was able to get 58(!!) eggs of which 38 were mature! So clearly I was getting enough of the medications lol! Thank you so much again!!
nurse michelle, i am administering shots for myself and my wife every night. and even though i could probably recite your video in my sleep at this point, i put it on anyway because i find your presence very comforting. so thanks.
@@karthisiva919Hello the treatment is successful and the menopur injections is well on my body. I was able to get 5 follicle that month. But sadly to say my IUI failed and I wasn't able to be pregnant. This will be an emotional journey and I pray you all the best. I will be moving on to IVF.
tonight's my 1st double dose 150ml. Is it going to burn more than the 75ml? Also, my clomid pill was increased from once at night, to one in the am and one in the pm. Is this to slow down ovulation to give the eggs more time to grow evenly?
I’m on the same boat as you are. My dose of clomid increased to twice a day one in the am and the 2nd on the pm. I’ve been injecting 75ml of menopur and tomorrow I will take the double dose 150ml. I have pcos and the reason why my doctor increased it is because I’m a slow responder to the medication so my eggs aren’t growing as they should. Praying this works for us both.
Hi Michelle - any tips for reducing the intense burning sensation caused by injecting Menopur? I've tried everything under the sun - icing, injecting super slowly. Nothing works. It seems like my wife gets that burning sensation on the days where there's a bit of blood at the injection site...could it be that I'm puncturing a capillary and that's what is causing the burning? Would aspirating slightly once I inject be helpful perhaps?
Hi. You should definitely always check with your doctor/nurse but, you can try pulling up more saline (water/fluid) to dilute the solution more, stay away from any areas where you can visibly see capillaries, and when you pull the needle out take a piece a gauze and apply slight pressure. There is no need to aspirate with a subcutaneous injection.
@@IVFNurseMichelle can you tell me if it's normal to start your period during ivf stimulation? They pulled me off my birth control Monday and I started stimming Thursday and started my period Friday. My office is closed.
Hellow Nurse Michelle. Thank you so much for the video! My IVF nurse says 2 powders of Menopur... I assume that means 2 bottles of menopur mix with 1 bottle of fluid. Jut want to confirm.
Hello J Y. You should always check with your clinic but generally 2 powders means two powder vials of Menopur, which equals 150 iu. And yes, you only need one vial of fluid to mix with the two powders. The vial has 2 cc (ml) in it. You can either mix with the full 2 cc or 1.5 cc.
@@IVFNurseMichelle I got so nervous I messed up and wasted 2 powders. In the end I watched your video 3 times and made it through. All the other videos my clinic told me to watch didn’t help me as much as your video. Your video is more human hahaha. Thank you so much!!!
Correct. If you find that the Menopur stings a little with the 1 cc then you can up it to 1.5 cc. *Note - you will never get the exact amount of fluid that you put in to mix with the powder, as some residual fluid sticks to the glass. Totally normal.
If I am understanding your question correctly - if you are using one 2 cc vial of solvent to mix with both powder vials it does not affect the process. The solvent is just the way to get the medicine in you. You can use 1cc, 1.5 cc, or 2 cc. You would still be getting the 150 iu (75 iu + 75 iu) of medicine. It may just burn/sting more with less solvent used.
@@IVFNurseMichelle Thank goodness!!! I was getting stressed out we weren’t doing it right. Thank you for responding. Your videos have been really helpful.
